Which U.S. State do You Associate With The Game Euchre?

While playing Euchre with my family today we had a debate over which state most people associate with the game. I won’t say which states we were saying because I think that would ruin a bit of it.

Ohio, but I also know it’s played in Michigan and Western PA.

Michigan; specifically, da U.P.

I’m from Ohio, and I played euchre all the time in high school, so I guess that’d be my answer. Great game. Haven’t played in ages, though.

All the Wisconsin natives knew the game well at the UW Madison, so Cheeseheadland.

Ohio, only time I’ve heard of it.

Michigan (and then Ohio).

Indiana because that was where I played it.

Michigan. A lot of Ohioans and Cheeseheads vacationed in Michigan.

Iowa.

Michigan

Of course, I’m from Michigan and we’ve played it here. I have heard it isn’t as common outside the state, though.

Learned in Wisconsin from someone from Michigan, played mostly in Indiana.

Indiana, but I may just be misremembering what people have told me. They might have said that it was Ohio or Michigan where it’s the most popular.

Same here. I play in California, but only with transplanted Ohioans.

Wisconsin popped into my head first, but then I started thinking Florida. Do card games migrate?

I associate it with no state at all. Didn’t even know it had any such connection for others.

Pennsylvania. I learned it in Pittsburgh with my grandmother and my cousins.

Wisconsin, because that’s where I grew up and my mom and her sisters played it.

North Dakota. My grandparents were demon whist and euchre players.

I was going to say Minnesota but maybe it was Michigan I was thinking of - one of those places up there, anyway.
