This question came up from a props friend of mine (who needs the research for a show).

What is the history of the pinwheel? Any information (with references) would be great. His specific question is what would they have been made of, circa 1952?

Any images or links would be extremely helpful - and contribute to the veracity of live theatre.

In 1952 a contemporary plastic sheet of some type.
In the thirties they would have been imported for Nipon and made of celluloid.
