The Hobbit movie(s) anticipation thread

Excepting Galadriel. Celeborn clearly married up.

I can’t believe it, but we are less than two months away from the release of the first movie.

I hope I can see it in 2D, with 48 frames-per-second. I still have not heard if you definitely have to see 3D to get the 48FPS.

ETA: Stephen Colbert will appear in ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, seriously

Link says it all. I can speak some Quenya too. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds like he’s not sure if he is in or not, but it would be kind of neat.

I wonder how Peter Jackson will cameo in the movies. I saw all three of his in Lord of the Rings in the theater(though his ROTK is massively obvious, of course).

Dark Horizons has posted its set visit interviews and so forth. Neat read.

Sadly, looks like those of us who are non-3Ders will be stuck with the 24 FPS version.

That’s a little unfortunate. I admit to being curious about it, but I can’t deal with the headache I’d get, just for a little curiousity.

As long as it is available in 2D I’m happy. I find I have to keep pulling the glasses off to rest my eyes periodically during 3D. Feels like my eyes keep wanting to cross.

…the new Air New Zealand pre-flight safety video: with a couple of cameo’s!

Very cool. I wish they’d had Ian Mckellan for the last bit. “Fly, you fools!”

I gotta say, that’s totally awesome!

That, is a priceless piece of work! Finishing it off with “Fly, you fools!” was sheer genius.

Just me, or was Batman there? I think I caught his ears at least.

we see Gandalf tipsy? not sure if that’s good or bad but I look forward to finding out

Preview of Radagast the Brown soundtrack:

The percussion sounds like a typewriter to me.

Here is a youtube video with the whole track for those who prefer youtube.

Lots of Hobbit stuff at the Noble Collection - a bit pricey, but good quality, I’ve found: The Noble Collection developer of products in collectible categories, specializing in the particularly demanding area of weapon replicas and metallurgy, as well as porcelain, bronze, silver and fine jewelry.

150 behind-the-scenes shots. Be sure to click the gallery below the Peter Jackson shot; it’s got some great ones.

Thanks - my Christmas wish list is easy this year.

that is great -

Ok, I remain nervous but Elrond in wine coloured armour is awesome.
