I got the mowage done. We went to breakfast, which was more like brunch since we got there later than usual. I just finished cleaning the kitchen floor - first vacuuming up critter hair, then damp mopping/scrubbing all the stickies I’ve been dripping over the last week or so. Between the cantaloupe, the watermelon, the peaches, and the ham package that had a hole in it, I’ve had a lot of stuff slop on the tiles. It’s now cleaner. Kinda ugly, tho. The tiles are almost 11 years old and they haven’t aged well. I don’t see us replacing them since we put them under the cabinets - I suppose we could cut them off along the bottom of the cabinets and put in a replacement. Not any time soon, tho…
Meanwhile, I’m taking a break. **FCD **wants me to help polish his bike. I’m not interested, but I don’t really have anything else to do. So I guess in a little bit, I’ll don some grubbies and head down to the basement. rah.
Day off, just got up. The Princess did a nice job of waiting until I was waking up on my own to start the “time for kitty breakfast” campaign.
Not much in the way of set plans. I do need to do some defilthifying of the mini-cavern, but I’m not sure what specific (long overdue) task I can talk myself into doing. We shall see.
Howdy Y’all! Back from venturin’ up to Americus for N.O.L. ‘Twas really good. One has a choice of orderin’ off the menu or goin’ to the [del]hog trough[/del] pizza/pasta buffet. I opted for the [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. Had some really good pizza and a really, really gooooooood cinnamon roll. We all left stuffded.
The agenda for the rest of the day is wide open. I foresee nappage shortly.
The dishwasher is sloshing along, cleaning our dishes. I’ve watered my outdoor plants, since it hasn’t rained nearly enough of late. **FCD **doesn’t want a real supper, so I don’t have to thaw anything.
I believe the denizens of the VunderLair bought $50 of produce to implement PickleFest ‘15 tomorrow. Now I’s sweatin’ the question of do I have enough jars?
Howdy all! Tis hot with heat index around 111 degrees F. I irked half day today then went to the grocery store. I am cooking some turnip greens and they small great. I will have baked sweet N.O.T’s and hubs is going to fry up some poke chops. I may make some cornbread.
I bought a peach pie cause I got a hankering from Mmmoooommmm’s pie on FB.
I bought not one but two bottles of wine cause one just won’t be enough. I am going to tie one on starting now. The Accreditation team arrives on Monday and the scrutinizing begins on Tuesday morning for me. I will be so glad when next week is over. It’s been a month of pulling together documentation to prove what we do. I want to tell them to GET OFF MY LAWN!
Here’s hoping everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.
I told him on Face Book but HAPPY BIRTHDAY BBBBOOOOOBBBBBIIIIIIOOOOO!!!
Supper was easy - **FCD **had some leftover ham and N.O.T.s fried up with some onions, plus some 'maters, celery, and radishes with ranch dressing. I had a couple of 'mater sammiches. Peach pie later.
Butters the laws of southern culinary art plainly state one must have cornbread with a meal like that. Dang that sounds so good, even to my still stuffded from N.O.L. self!
I’ve actually always enjoyed doing parodies; and given more than 5 minutes they often come out pretty good. Not so much these ones but ------ Forever in Bondage (not by Neil Diamond) ain’t half bad. Vulgar carols are also a lot of fun.
I write it off to college and ------ smoking. Some kids tried to make a bong out of everything. So did I; but while I was working on that I came up with some lyrics here and there too.
I apparently missed some excitement involving a dead rat in the donated clothes today. One of my co-workers texted me about it. She did spare me from pictures.
I think this was a very good day to have off, even if productivity stands at 0% today.
For Boo (I believe) if no one else, I’ve been meaning to give an Old Wench report but haven’t had the time; she just basically got back and we had to go into family reunion for her side for today.
She loved England and the trip and it was money well spent. And the couple extra days before the amusement park part started was a really good idea. She got over the jet lag faster that way and enjoyed the bus tour part. Bad thing was driving past interesting things and not being able to stop, good thing was driving past interesting things to other interesting things and being kept on task. The final list over the 12 days was Paultons Park, Oakwood Theme Park, Alton Towers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Flamingo Land, Joyland Amusement Park, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Park, Pleasurewood Hills, Drayton Manor, Legoland Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures, Dreamland, Adventure Island, Thorpe Park and Stonehenge – which had no rides but was cool as Hell anyway.
Best surprise was the snail rides in two of the parks – don’t ask me; I wasn’t there. Whatever they are exactly they are different from anything US and she really enjoyed them. Worst surprise was the sad lacking of t-shirts in adult sizes compared to US parks. We have hundreds of shirts (literally) from our travels around the east coast - she brought home 4 from the entire trip and one of those was Stonehenge and two others specials provided by the parks. Out of 70some coasters available she did about 50; some weren’t running and some weren’t her type/kind/preference so it helped her count – which she doesn’t actually keep track of. And at least three of the parks are on the short list for a return visit for her and a first hit for me - Blackpool and Alton really sound like the kind of thing I enjoy. So all in all not a bad use of 2 weeks.
I googled snail rides in the UK and all I came up with were the tame kiddie rides similar to what we have here. I find my curiousity piqued. Please tell more.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 94 for the day and sunny. We shall see. We had another biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig tboomer last night. I fell asleep whilst it was still happenin’. Nice!
Today’s plans include deheathenization, brunch at the church house, and possible nappage. That should be enough to keep me outta trouble for the day.
The only time sugar is allowed around anything cornbread related is for corn muffins. By that I mean the brekkie kind of muffin cause brekkie muffins are sweet. For real cornbread contains no sugar. FTR, that Jiffy mix stuff is for corn muffins and in no way counts as cornbread. I has spoken!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I shall mess about teh intartoobz for a bit before the commencement of purtification for deheathenization.
