I has a :(; the fair ran out of waffles & ice cream before I could get over to them last night. There’s nothing better than an ‘ice cream sam’mich’ where the ice cream is starting to melt from the heat of the freshly made waffle!
Had to settle for the roasted corn on the cob instead, slathered in butter & cajun seasoning. It’s good, but it’s not waffles & ice cream sam’mich. Now I gotta wait until next year as the fair is over. (Luckily I got one on Fri eve.)

Local place has a bank of waffle irons, and dedicates at least one, and often on weekend nights, two minions for making cups and cones. The smell is toe curling. Of course, the ice cream is good, it travels all of 30 feet to the freezers…

We just finished building a new wood rack and loading it with some firewood. We’re going to need another rack, I fear. A cord is a LOT of wood. But for now, we’re done. Chillage shall ensue.

With assistance, I spent the afternoon cleaning my closets. I have 10 bags of clothes to donate, and I have scheduled a pick up. I now have room in my closets for the clothes I actually wear. There are still a few boxes of clothes to go through, and then there’s the whole dining area to clear out, but I feel good about having made this dent. It’s downsizing I should have done long ago but never felt up to tackling.

Heard a good Celtic band, along with a blues band that was on the ticket last night. One of my friends plays several instruments with the Irish guys and guests as a sax player for the blues band. Sis, her sweetie and the pups got in but left for Dad’s after breakfast. I filled up the truck and washed it when they left, then went out on the bike with the neighbor. Now, it’s time to fix supper.

We just had a fine gourmet meal at that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner. OYKW went for brekkie for dindin, and I had the hamburger steak with onion gravy, fries and a sallit. You know it’s a classy place when the sallit dressin’ comes in a foil packet. Thus endeth the weekend.
