I’m in a quandary as to whether I should be going through either closing or editing all of MM’s threads. He does seem to have too much time on his hands when he’s not using his hands for something else (:::rimshot::: thank you very much.) On the other hand, y’all seem to be having too much fun either hijacking his threads or dealing with it in other ways (i.e. : some threads may eventually be Pit material.)
So, I’ll put it to you … if you ignore the guy, he’ll eventually get bored and go away. If we keep answering him, he’ll be around for a while. Let me know here what the consensus is.

Although it was amusing to see a whole thread full of blank posts, I became irritated when I saw many of his topics hogging up prime real estate at the top of the list. For that same reason, I will not play the hijack all of his threads game because not only does it keep them high on the list, it gives people the impression that he has become popular.
I tend not to click on a thread unless the subject line or author compels me to. Up until today I had never opened a MM thread, but thought I should check out the “fan club” topic because it had 30 posts (gee, he must have gotten popular all of a sudden). Total waste of time. Why not just start a “what’s your favorite holiday” thread and post to that one (and any other genuine threads), the better to sink the offending troll.
When I see a troll at the top of the list, my new strategy will be to apply the mechanism of artificial selection: post to the other adjacent threads, even if I normally wouldn’t. I figure it’s the lesser of two evils.
This guy reminds me of one of those perverts who call up people claiming to be taking a survey and the questions get more and more obnoxious. On the other hand, there are a lot of people out there who for the first time in their lives share a forum to discuss in detail penises - their own or other peoples. Too much time on his hands indeed.

Well at the moment there are TEN of his topics taking up otherwise useful space on my screen, and we are just making it worse.

If you keep posting (anything) to his threads he will be very happy. Just getting/controlling your attention and getting you to modify your behavior is enough. Even this thread is his doing and he probably loves it.
All his crap should go to the Pit, as fewer people will bother to go there just for the clown. Unfortunately he’ll be back if ignored as another name. I would not be surprised if he was the clown who trashed the Reader headers. Seems like the same type.

Technial question: I noticed that one of his threads kept sinking even though there were added posts to it. Was the topic somehow fixed to do that?
I doubt it, I just think we are focusing on other topics, causing them to stay afloat.
I have authored a few topics that, although attracted regular intrest, never the less sunk like stones because other topics were just a bit more popular.
