You can tell things are bad because Chuck Schumer has stopped tweeting about groceries and is actually threatening to not immediately give Republicans everything they want.

In seven days, yes. Jeffries refused to whip his members against the funding bill and it passed the House because of Democratic turncoats, so it’s in the Senate’s hands now.
They’re insisting that they’re not going to approve a bill funding DHS.

I think at this point there will be a lot of people cheering on a shutdown, where rather than blaming the Dems they’ll give them credit. It’s a win-win for them right now. I expect we’re headed for a shutdown next week and I’m glad.
If Dems cave, I expect people will blame them for whatever ICE does afterwards, and I expect I’ll be one of them.

At this point, the federal government has lost the Mandate of Heaven as far as I’m concerned. It has abandoned the rule of law and is therefore illegitimate. Trump and his cronies need to be removed and there need to be tribunals for most of the regime.
Well, not quite. They’ve got their metaphorical guns trained on the idea that law enforcement can just pop you if you are getting closer to them while carrying a firearm, but they’re reserving judgment on the charge of “domestic terrorist”. What Essayli wrote was so damn egregiously wrong that they had to make some kind of response, but it’s entirely possible that the NRA will eventually look at the “totality of the facts” (as seen on Fox News) and come down on the side of it being a “good shoot”.
He doesn’t have to believe it. He just has to sell it to a more than willing audience.
