I’m also happy that the despicable fascist liar Bovino is being demoted, but I wish it were in response to a faint glimmer of human decency in Trumpworld, rather than to raw polling data.
Also, I don’t really like the “TACO” meme. To me, it’s more Trump inflicts maximum damage, then moves on to inflict some other kind of damage (often before accomplishing some ridiculous “goal”).
“Trump Always Chickens Out” is too passive, too harmless-sounding. It doesn’t acknowledge the huge, senseless consequences.
Well phrased. And the new damage inflicted is so horrendous, that it is easy to lose track of the growing heap of victims left behind from the previous adventures in unnecessary and ineffectual cruelty.
I don’t like the TACO thing because it feels like were taunting him. Most (all) of the things Trump chickens out of, we WANT him to back down from. I mean, do we really want him to come back with “fine, you think I always chicken out, the ICE agents are staying in MN and I’m sending in 2000 more”?
Maybe, provoking the regime into disastrous decisions is a tool in the resistant toolbox.
The ‘intentionally provoking civil unrest so we can send in the troops and cancel elections in November‘ theory has been making the rounds recently, but Trump’s backpedaling yesterday seems to argue against this. If the goal was to escalate, then Pretti’s murder would serve that purpose admirably. The fact that we haven’t seen the usual Trump doubling down suggests otherwise.
I get it, I just worry we’re the ones that are going to rear end the manure truck as Trump manages to get out of the way.

Acting ICE director must appear in court over failure to reply to court orders
The chief judge in Minnesota has ordered acting ICE Director Todd Lyons to appear in person on Friday to answer to why the agency has not complied to the dozens of orders that courts in Minneapolis have ordered, according to an overnight court filing.
"The Court’s patience is at an end,” Chief Judge Patrick Schiltz wrote. “Accordingly, the Court will order Todd Lyons, the Acting Director of ICE, to appear personally before the Court and show cause why he should not be held in contempt of Court.”
Schlitz wrote that it is “extraordinary” to order the head of a federal agency appear before a court, “but the extent of ICE’s violation of court orders is likewise extraordinary, and lesser measures have been tried and failed.”
Schiltz was critical of the administration over the weekend, lambasting the Justice Department for judge shopping on warrants.

Choose Reply as linked topic and it starts a new thread. As an example, you can choose GD, IMHO or The Pit for it.

I’m wondering about the smooth brain that unloaded his pistol after the initial shot. That’s going into a frenzy, and the guy should be removed from society along with the first shooter. Determining the kill shot shouldn’t be a factor in the guilt of the entire crew. It would be sweet if one of them could flip in return for immunity.
