I’m cautiously optimistic, for the first time in more than a year, that we’re going to survive this. Hoping we get Nuremburg, or at the very least a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
I agree. I’m not sure why Bovino was the one chosen to be thrown under the bus rather than, say, Tom Homan, but I imagine it was because Bovino was the tactical guy in the field and the most dispensable. All the goons sitting in Washington who actually enabled all this have plausible deniability because, like, they were in Washington and not in Minneapolis.
Miller is safe. He’s the prime mover behind the whole neo-Nazi movement.
I don’t think anyone will have the stomach for criminal trials for these people. Hopefully, they’ll be sued back to the Stone Age.
We’ll see. He might have been safe if he hadn’t put himself out there with his comments recently, but now that he’s not lurking in the shadows he might have put a political target on himself. Or not, I’m not sure. The fact that he and Noem are being targeted by people demanding their dismissal might be a problem.

Miller overplayed his hand. The local authorities were supposed to “surrender” and the white folks were supposed to stand by and let him carry out the ethnic cleansing he’s been dreaming about.
Turns out that when you try to unleash fascist death squads into an American city, the response ISN’T “oh well, I wonder what’s on TV tonight”.
And since Trump loses interest or backs down any time an operation doesn’t deliver 100% of what he wants right away, there’s a chance Miller might need to update his resume soon.
I wonder if the “agent” identified himself. If not, I’d prefer they say, “someone claiming to be an agent from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement…”
There’s as much a chance of that as there is of Trump resigning.
Doesn’t matter. Trump only cares about Trump; if he feels like it he’ll fire Miller no matter what Miller or the neo-Nazis want. If anything, Miller being “important” that way is more likely to get him fired than any backlash from the shootings. Human life means nothing to Trump, but threatening his ego? That matters.
Well, there’s also the issue that Miller may have enough information on Trump to be safe from firing. There are plenty of others who could be sacrificed in his place. I highly doubt Trump would want his deputy chief of staff testifying against him.
That’s one reason why I don’t think it’s a given that Miller is out.
I don’t think it’s a given for Noem either, but I think the odds are much higher for her.
Just now seeing footage of an attempted attack on Rep. Ihan Omar while she was speaking at an event in Minneapolis. Here is a link to the story in the Mankato Free Press. The individual sprayed her with something but reports are she is okay. He was tackled and detained.
Information that doesn’t implicate him as bad or worse, and that Trump actually cares about? I have my doubts. Especially as his dementia becomes worse, you can’t blackmail somebody who is too crazy to care.
I doubt that anyone in the regime is safe from firing save for Trump himself. The issue relevant to the thread is, “is the backlash over the shootings enough to get Miller fired”, and that’s unlikely.
