I can’t recall exactly where we left off before but there were prayers going out and I’d like to see how you guys are doing who posted. And if there’s anyone new out there who needs a prayer, this is the place for you. Oh, and as I added before - I have to expect some sarcastic comments, so if you feel like posting one of those I’ll just have to pray for you too .

I’m in need of a prayer, 'cause I think I’m dangerously close to a nervous breakdown.
Hi and thanks.
As still, we need a place to live, a job, money. etc.
daowajan My prayers are with you. If you feel like talking about it, please, I’m all ears . And vanilla …hang in there.
Proverbs 3:5-6 …Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your paths.
I’d like to think that won’t happen; it’s my feeling that our ‘wilderness experience’ at BBBBoy has made this community a little more mature in outlook (or am I the only one that thinks this?).
Nice idea for a thread anyway.
Thanks.
Me and my son need a place to live, a job, and friends (we have none).
If this works…I guess a certain moderator in Oregon will have to admit prayer works, empirically…(kidding)
In the earlier thread, I said I needed a real job. I just four days ago completed the class for the life insurance agent lisence. I now have to take the test, but this is a REAL job. PTL (if that phrase hasn’t been rendered entirely cheesy by television).
The office has big novelty bonus checks on the walls as inspiration. . They are bonuses, not guaranteed wages, but I understand that people who actually work should get some, and the ones on the walls are the prices of used to mid-priced new cars. This is a real godsend.
I still need to get inspired to really connect with God on a daily basis.
Now I have pray to land the girl who will be my co-worker.
Is an overhand motion best for pitching woo?
“A certain moderator in Oregon” has no objections to this thread, and will stomp on any sarcastic comments directed towards it. On the other hand, it might take more than one “answer” out of a dozen prayer requests to convince me, especially since one third of your prayer has already been granted-you’ve got no enemies here!
Well, I don’t think I saw the other threads, but I could certainly use whatever prayers/good thoughts anyone has to spare…actually, my dad is the one who needs them!
You see, my father has been very ill lately. He is not that old yet (only 57) but has had tons of circulatory system problems. It started with a major stroke on the left side of his brain nine years ago. At first they thought he would never walk again, but somehow he managed to regain the use of his leg. Tragically, he was too stubborn to stop smoking, so things kept getting worse until an ugly case of gangrene took away that leg in December of 2000 (at that point we finally managed to stop him from smoking). Things seemed okay for over a year, thank God. However, the weekend after Valentine’s Day, he had a heart attack, followed by an episode of pulmonary edema where he was on a ventilator for a week. We were so relieved when he suddenly started breathing on his own again, and his heart seemed to be doing okay…the only problem was that he was weak and had a bedsore from laying in bed almost motionless for a week.
But, then, just this past Sunday he was rushed to the hospital again because he was totally non-responsive when his physical rehab therapist tried to wake him up. Since it was suspected of being a stroke, they did a scan of his carotid arteries. As it turns out, he didn’t have a real stroke (thank God for that) but it was discovered THE RIGHT SIDE carotid artery has narrowed by about 80-90%. Obviously, that is pretty bad, but they’re reluctant to do surgery on the artery due to his heart troubles and the episode of non-responsiveness. We don’t actually know yet what caused him to be non-responsive; it could have been one of his medications. We’re hoping and praying it wasn’t a ‘mini-stroke’.
Anyway, as you can imagine, this is a very traumatic situation. I’m still pretty young, and despite his many problems, Dad means everything to me. I’ve cried and prayed so much over the last few weeks. My heart breaks every time I think about what the future may bring. I would be thankful if anyone out there, regardless of religion, would say a little prayer for my dad’s health to get better. Thanks.
First of all let me say Congrats to Cardinal and I’m praying more congrats will be on the way when you pass the test and land the job! It sounds like you know what you want. IMO the best way to connect with God on a daily basis is listen to music or teachings on the radio. I’m terrible at reading the bible but that would work too . Also just communicating with him in prayer and just daily thoughts. Keep us informed of your situation!
Thank You Czarcasm . Now I’m even more determined to see some serious prayer answered here!! And yes vanilla, it seems as though part 3 or your request has been answered :).
spathiphyllum My Dad had a similar problem. He has been a smoker for like 50 years (he’s 67) and has diabetes and poor circulation. Two years ago he had a ‘mini-stroke’ while driving home from Vegas (he’s also a compulsive gambler) and then last year had to have his right leg amputated below the knee because of his horrible circulation. And he STILL SMOKES!!! I tried and tried to ask, tell, force him to quit, but besides betting on the horses, smoking (he says) is one of the last few things he has to enjoy in this life. Anyway he’s doing okay now, just existing really. I will be praying for you and your Father. One for his health to improve quickly, and two for you to hold true to your faith and continue praying for him with your family and friends.
It truly is an honor to be able to pray for you all .

My colleagues and I could use prayer that our company will make payroll this month – and that there’ll be no more layoffs this year.
aw Czar I wuv you too!
I wasn’t being sarcastic, just remembering that poster (I forget his name) who had insisted he could be psychic, and he lived near you too.
I am glad you are my friends, and I appreciate it, if only you’d come over and go bumming with me once in a while (but none of ya lives over here!)
Maybe I should move where y’all are at!
Well, out of the Teeming Millions who visit IMHO - it seems there are only 6 of us who need prayer. Hmm…It’s good to know everyone out there is pretty happy and satisfied with their lives.
AndJubilationTCornpone I didn’t forget ya’
God Bless!
Thanks for the prayers, Dreamer. You may have done us some good. It turns out that my Dad is doing pretty well; his heart is almost back to normal, and there is no evidence of damage that would indicate a stroke. Also thankfully, there is hope for his carotid artery to be repaired too. We were given the option of an experimental angioplasty procedure to open that artery up. Unfortunately, there is not much solid data about the procedure, since it’s still in the experimental stage…but the traditional surgery seems to be too risky, and we are hopeful that this new technique will help him become healthier than he has been for a long time. It looks like they will be doing it tomorrow. Any prayers for the procedure to go well would be appreciated.
