Then I don’t see how any prayer can not be insincere, absent the existence of any deity.
Or, if you insist that deities do exist, how can you tell if someone praying to the God of Snotburgers really means it?
That’s not prayer; no one can “communicate with a deity” since they don’t exist, and more importantly for this, don’t respond. All you can do is talk and pretend something is listening.
Very well. And I agree that, by a strict definition of witnessing, it’s not. It isn’t a debate, either. It’s a purposeless list of stuff. So I’m sending this to MPSIMS.
I mean when the person who’s praying believes he’s trying to communicate with his deity.
Again, how can you make that judgment? Who are you to say what is sincere and what isn’t?

Also, I’d like to add that I find the “modern English” versions of the Lord’s Prayer to be aesthetically displeasing.
I mean, compare the OP with this:
I mean, that version has some poetry to it!
I call foul, the mentat’s mantra is not a prayer.
I will add, however “Oh God, please stop the room from spinning and I promise I will never, ever, ever drink again.”
