"The Incredibles" DVD - March 15th

Lessee, Jack Jack’s powers that we saw were:

  • Laser gaze
  • Fire body (and probably invulnerable to fire)
  • Float
  • Antigravity (sitting on the ceiling) Same power as float?
  • Teleport
  • Go through walls (same as teleport?)
  • Dematerialize things (see the hole in the crib)
  • Transform to heavy metal baby
  • Transform to small demon.

Did I miss any?

Generate powerful vibrations? Like when Syndrome had the little guy in his villianous grip?

Oh yeah…paint the walls with strained spinich, that, too…

Who is that bootlicker sitting next to Brad Bird during the deleted scene commentary? What a total sycophant! “Heh, heh. Yeah, great.” “Oh yeah. (nod, nod)”

Couldn’t Mr. Bird find some hot chick to kiss his ass instead of this toad? Oh, I get it – he’s a TOADY!

What a tool.

Great DVD, otherwise.

Was Mr. Incredible’s boss at the insurance company supposed to look like William H. Macy? Or was that just coincidence?

(Wouldn’ve been nice if WHM had done the voice, instead of Wallace Shawn.)

That was the producer, IIRC. I wouldn’t say he was a bootlicker as much as he was just deferring to Bird on the commentary – it’s clearly his baby, after all. And he gets some substantial comments when it comes to discussing budgeting and managerial-issues.

Two other items:

  1. Can I assume everyone’s seen the Easter Eggs now? I swear, the sock puppet gig is even funnier than “Jack-Jack Attack” and “Mr. Incredible and Pals” combined.

  2. Does anyone know where the “Pizza Planet” truck shows up in the movie? It’s supposed to be one of those Pixar in-jokes, but darned if I still can’t spot it in the film.

Coincidence. Bird has mentioned in at least one interview that people have “accused” him of modeling Bob’s boss after various famous people, from William Macy to Donald Trump to Homer Simpson, and he’s denied all charges.

(I think he looks like a short Homer with hair, myself.)

At first I was thinking Stephen King. That would be odd.

Same here.

Well… no, actually. Where’s the Easter Egg(s) ?

Ah, I see there’s a list of the many Easter Eggs on the DVD here.
