The Island: I smell a lawsuit

Based solely on this quote, I hate Michael Bay. Look, Mike, it’s really simple. If Scarlett Johansson wants to go naked, you let her!!

At the very least, shoot it twice, and save the hot scene for the DVD!

Well, I know the TV is good and always tells the truth, but “summer” to me is fun, some interesting things happen, and stuff makes sense, at least on a causal level. None of those things are true in a Michael Bay movie.

This question even appeared on the Famous Director’s School admissions test:

Your lead actress tells you she doesn’t like her bra and wants to work topless in her upcoming scene. Your response should be:

A - Artistically, I agree that nudity would be more honest in this scene.
B - Yowza, that’ll bring in another ten million at the box office.
C - How about losing the panties as well?
D - Sorry, Scarlett, I’m Michael Bey and I have to insist on you wearing that bra.

C. Definitely C.

Looks like the lawsuit is on:

That article doesn’t mention anything about a lawsuit.

And I don’t see why there should be one. An episode of Sliders used that exact same plot and I don’t remember any howling there.

Well, this does bode well for the future since SJ seems game. Better a director who won’t edit the film like a Cuisinart so the camera’s allowed to linger a bit, eh?
