Huh. I thought Savannah was a really good guest host, and most of the Jeopardy subreddit seemed to agree.
And no, the Friday 6/25 game was a little below my 50h percentile since I started tracking my Coryat score a few months ago.

You don’t recognize those two great characters of 19th century Russian literature?
I laughed my ass off when I heard this.
Yes! She always appeared to be leaning backwards from her ankles, and never straightening her knees.
She does everything Alex Trebek did, but backwards and in high heels.
ISWYDT
Now Trebek gets another (posthumus) Emmy. Why not just cannonize him already?
Cannonize him? You mean like they did with Hunter S Thompson’s ashes?
What makes you think that was a typo?

Mayim wiith a big lead in a poll of viewers
As for ratings, Ken, Mike and Aaron are 1,2,3; after that everyone is around 5.1 to 5.3
Interesting look at all that is involved in hosting.
I love this part
I also realized I was going to need to come up with several quick options to tell a contestant they gave the correct response. I even made a list of words that I carried around on set: Yes, Good, You got it, That is correct, That’s the one, Well done, That’s right, Correct, Spot on, You betcha, That’s it, Exactly, Absolutely, Right on, Yeah baby, Bingo, Bazinga, Roger and Preach!
OK, I didn’t use all of them, but when you watch these next two weeks, you will see that I did have some fun.
Wonderful article. I’m looking forward to seeing him host.
I’m eager to see the “ten-letter foreign words” category. That should be interesting.
I love it when my daughter stops by and watches the show with me. She does far better in the Pop Culture categories than I ever could. She’s my go-to source if I need a movie/actor/actress/singer/song identified. She surprises me with her knowledge of other categories too (e.g., history, science, literature, languages).
If he says “Preach!” I’m going to fall of my couch laughing, but I doubt he will
I think “correctamundo” might be pushing it.
(Bolding mine)
One of my biggest complaints about Savannah was that, when a contestant answered correctly, she invariably said “You got it!” That phrase got really old really quickly.
Oh that poor boy.
For the rest of the game, if we didn’t know the answer, we’d holler, “Heckle and Jeckle!”
Makin’ copies!
The other day “carrot and stick” was said to represent reward and punishment. I thought the stick was just the means to suspend the enticing carrot, not a threat of punishment.
You got it!
