Me too.
I still think it’s Star Trek fandom that’s Burton’s biggest supporter. They’re well known for flooding mailbags (electronic and otherwise) with petitions.
who are you quoting?
Mentioned in the GMA piece — Matt has had 4 hosts.

Any news about next week? Ken or Mayim?
I see a future Jeopardy question.
Matt Amodio appeared on Jeopardy in 2021. How much did he win and name all the hosts for his games.
Just saw another Twitterer today call Burton “the obvious choice.” I ask again, did any of these people watch his episodes? He was terrible. And actual viewers agreed–his ratings were dead last among all the guest hosts!
Actually he’s on his fifth host. His first three games was with Robin Roberts as host, then five with LeVar Burton, five with David Faber and five with Joe Buck. And now of course he’s playing with Mike Richards as host.
Whatever else happens, that record is likely to stand for a long time.
Ratings are everything. If Burton came in dead last, no way would he be made permanent host, or (probably) be asked to guest host again. I don’t think we need worry about that. Neither Sony nor the affiliates that carry the show would stand for it.

I’m thinking that they’ll have to edit out something at the end of the Friday show, where Richards presumably says something like "see you next week.[/quote]
Richards did indeed say “we’ll see you next week” but it would have been a really awkward edit to remove it.
And I point out again: his ratings were comparable with the other host whose tenure coincided with the Olympics.
But Burton has removed himself from consideration and who can blame him? He’s got other offers now, apparently.
Unbelievable that Matt missed one of the easiest Final Jeopardy questions ever!
Matt’s not bad, he’s just drawn that way.
It takes a little luck to contine a win streak. Tracy should have sent Matt home. Except, she hadn’t watched the movie.
His poor performance had absolutely NOTHING to do with the Olympics. That hadn’t even crossed my mind.
He did look a little concerned during tonight’s Final Jeopardy.
I was traveling all day Monday, so I haven’t watched the episode on YouTube yet. My curiosity is piqued!
Just finished watching Monday’s episode. I thought the FJ answer was tough. Never in a million years would I have remembered what movie it was from.
I was amazed Tracy blew the first DD. She obviously has neither read the book nor seen the movie.
My go-to answer is Martin van Buren. Even more obscure than William Howard Taft.
Trying to recall why I didn’t even remember the FJ clue, much less the solution – then I remembered that there was a tornado warning in the area (not near me)
Just checked J! archive – I thought it was easy.

I saw the movie when it came out, but it’s never been a favorite of mine. De gustibus non disputandum est.
Even if Tracy has not experienced that admittedly voluminous work of literature, how could she not have known during which war it’s set?
So Mozart didn’t write “Send in the Clowns”?
Yes, that was another howler!
Tracy’s response to the DD was “1784.” What the hell happened in 1791 that prompted her to say this???
