My suspicion (and it is only a suspicion) is that this may be Ken’s choice. He had a great affection for Alex Trebek, and may feel that Alex was “the host of Jeopardy,” while he himself is not “THE host,” but is merely “hosting.”

Ken keeps getting better. Sometimes he’ll make a quick comment about game strategy. His insights are always interesting.

I disagree, on both counts.
What I find most distracting is Mayim kinda dresses like Amy Farrah Fowler! She always seems dowdy. Not yesterday though, or was it Monday? Plain hunter green blouse with a snazzy checkered coat.
If I had a vote, I would vote for Ken all the time. He’s very witty! I think he has other shows he does which may prevent him from accepting a full-time gig. I saw him on the Game Show Network on Masterminds, and he does The Chase as well. I’m not sure if Masterminds is current though.
I still want Buzzy.

Season 2 of The Chase premieres tonight. Looking forward to it. I’m hoping they’ll have stronger competition.
Season 1 was hit or miss. They had a few episodes where it was painfully obvious the contestants would lose in the final round.
I still question the format. The early rounds are knowledge based. You can avoid The Beast by consistently answering correcting. Any trivia buff can usually advance to the final round.
Final round is speed based and that’s The Beasts specialty. You can answer all your questions and helplessly watch him slaughter you by answering more questions in the allotted time.
It’s frustrating to watch.
I guessed the correct answer after I thought about a bit. I was surprised that none of the professors got it.
ABC tricked me. The reruns of The Chase season 2 begin tonight.

Add me as another who was shocked FJ was a triple stumper. I got the right answer immediately and didn’t even think of another name, though I guess MLK would be a reasonable guess if you had no idea.
Yep. I got it almost instantly. I think my involuntary thought process was along the lines of “peacenik murdered when Douglas MacArthur was quotable.” I think my being 71 helped with the time frames.
I guessed the right answer right away. MacArthur died in 1964 (I had to look it up, but I was pretty sure that it was no later than the early 1960s) so I knew the MLK answer was unlikely, and Kennedy wasn’t as noted for espousing non-violence as MLK or Gandhi, the correct response. (What’s our time limit on spoilers in this thread?)
Right. My sense was that by the early 1960s, MacArthur had pretty much “faded away” from public life. Although I see that he did advise JFK after the Bay of Pigs and on Vietnam, telling him to stay out of it.

It’s official: Ken and Mayim will be alternating hosts through July '22.
I think Jeopardy is in very capable hands. I was a little worried after Mike Richards abruptly left.
