I think we got them all.
But it balances when they have categories with bands from the 2000s, and not only do we not know them, we wonder if they were even real bands.

Going back to C22, just watched E7, final was, in 20th Century elections, the last time both candidates were former governors was in this year.
Pretty diffucult, and only the champ got it right. I had to pause briefly at the end of the 30 seconds, finally figured out the candidates, but then misremembered the year trying to think of it so quickly. Take out the year part of the clue, not that hard.
1980 - Reagan and Carter
If the above is correct, I believe I got it within the 30 second limit.
congrats. both are correct.
I guessed it correctly as well, because it’s the only election I could quickly remember with two former governors.
But after thinking about a bit, I came up with at least one more 20th century election with two former governors. 1936: FDR vs Alf Landon. FDR was the former governor of New York, and Landon was the current governor of Kansas.
There may be others as well.
Alex was such a great sport, he is a hero of Longmont Potion Castle and I am sure he never knew.
A big, big bundle of stuff. Like Siam, Alex is no longer in existence. A real colourful bunch of stuff.
I tuned into Jeopardy today expecting to see the first episode of Alex’s last week of shows. But it was a rerun.
Today.com tells me that the final five shows hosted by Alex will air beginning on Monday January 4, with the final episode on Friday January 8.
I tuned in to see if the current champ would pass $100,000.
But yes, they wanted to run Alex’s final week when more people would be watching.
I did get Final Jeopardy (and no, I did NOT see the episode when it initially aired)
Brian
Last week’s champion? The 24-year-old from Las Vegas? I thought he lost on Friday and ended just shy of $100,000?
You may be right, in any case I didn’t remember it was rerun week until I saw Ken.
Brian
He didn’t lose. The FJ was a triple stumper, but he bet a small enough amount to still win. But he didn’t win enough to break $100K.
More to the point, second place bet big enough to throw away her chance to win on the triple stumper. I understand she chose a “reddit” handle indicating that she now knew better. Alas…
Good point. I’m always appealed when supposedly smart people bet badly like that.
That was supposed to be “appalled.” Damn autocorrect!
Was there anything special about today’s episode? Monday was Ken Jennings, but other than having a contestant named “Lizzard” I didn’t find anything notable today.
Brian
The Sesame Street category?
Possibly, it was fun seeing Alex with Oscar.
Brian
That’s what they’re doing this week. Categories where Alex goes to some place and delivers the clues. Yesterday was Maple Leafs hockey with Tie Domi. Today was Sesame Street. The rest of the days have been posted on social media but I don’t remember. I’ll take them as they come.
Also, unfortunately, Netflix ran some (all?) of these Alex shows as one of their packages. Oh well, I still get all the same ones wrong.
I find it annoying that they’re not identifying the original air dates of these shows. Not that I really need to know, or can’t find out by looking them up on J-archive, but why can’t they just put a small graphic at the start with the date?
I agree, and that’s why I looked it up.
Here is the list.
