The Jeopardy thread [was James Holzhauer][contains spoilers]

But she did not know the others bet it all (though that is a decent guess)
If only one guy got it right, would there be a tiebreaker for second?

Brian

A tie at second place goes to the higher score going into Final Jeopardy. People in second and third always seem to bet too much. The best bet would be just enough to cover their current score.

“Crispus Attucks”? WTF?!? :open_mouth:

First person killed in the Revolutionary War. (“WTF?!”) was my first reaction too.)

Yes, I know who he was, thank you.

What I don’t understand is how she could have connected him with 1779, a beach in Hawaii, or Whitby, England.

Oh. I assumed you were as ignorant as I was.

I will admit that I did not know that Katie Couric is an upcoming guest-host on Jeopardy. But she may have blown her chance to be the permanent host.

According to this article, other upcoming guest hosts include Mayim Bialik and Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers?

He won Celebrity Jeopardy. Not every guest host is an audition to become permanent.

That article mentions that the median age of the audience is 64 years. (Perhaps not a surprise that one of the commercials during the show is for Consumers Cellular.) I wonder if they’re interested in lowering that.

I joked in the other Jeopardy! thread that Rodger’s appearance is a sign he is retiring (despite what happened yesterday he is not retiring as far as I know)

Brian

Maybe if the audience believes in trump conspiracy theories, then a show based on factual knowledge really isn’t for them. Family Feud might be a better fit.

Was it announced how long Ken is guest hosting? I think he is doing fine but I am curious.

Thanks,
Brian

Needs more car crashes.

How do people like Ken?

I heard, I think on the Jeopardy! contestants Facebook group, that Ken has taped six weeks of shows.

I enjoy him. I think he’s good. I wonder if others do too, or not.

I think he’s good. Alex was a tough act to follow, but Ken is doing well.

I like Ken. His pregame patter is still a little forced (and trying too hard to emulate Alex IMHO), but the game itself and the interviews with the players are good.

Yes. There’s a lot of that. I expect that will fade over time.

When reading the clues, Ken talks faster than Alex did. Not too fast, IMO, but it is different. The games seem to move faster, and the rounds have usually exhausted all of the clues.

When visiting with / introducing the players. Alex had a bit of a social awkwardness and sometimes he’d say something that almost bordered on the inappropriate. I find Ken to be more gracious, polite, and kind.
