"The Kids in The Hall " question

Sadly enough Eternal you are right.

“There is nobody home, nobody home”
“If we do this for a month we do not have to pay rent”

LOPEZ!!

yes, who was gay (I’m not sure if that was being implied in that reply from aegypt, if it was, apologize for the reiteration)

Apparently Chapman was not just gay, but way gay (a particularly gay strain of gay).

“Graham Chapman met his lover, David Sherlock, in 1966.”

Can’t bump the thread without a whole lotta milka.

Last night I saw:

“Office, submarine! Did I mention that the imagination is a dying animal?” “Pop cans, money! Office submarine!”

You have no idea how happy this made me. Incidentally, I have seen every episode, and thier live show, and never tire of it all. The other day when my roommate was cooking dinner I came into the kitchen and said “soup in a bag, Fran? Soup in a bag?” Needless to say, she didn’t get it. I have also used the “thinking about Tony, wondering where he is, what he is doing…” on her. Poor girl.

What was the name of the Frontier Veterinarian? Does anyone in the world remembewr that sketch but me?

“Why, is that pie I smell?”
“No, it’s the smell of my daddy dyin!”

I forgot to say

“Feelyat!”

On a great Halloween episode of NewsRadio, they actually used this to a extent. Dave decides to dress up like a woman, using his girlfriends dress and becomes a real hit due to it (his character is somewhat straightlaced). However his girlfriend keeps avoiding him. Finally after the party, he confronts her to why she is being so cold.

“Dave. I am jealous. You actually looked better in the dress than I did.”

He did too

Heath Doolin Yup, that’s one of my favorite News Radio episodes. I started watching that show because of Dave and secretly hoped they would put him in drag.

August West Now I can’t get “Your cheating heart” out of my head sigh. “Death be not proud!”

Men dressing as women must be comedy gold. The State, a sketch comedy show that was on MTV, had only one girl in the group so they were always dressing up as women. God I miss that show.
“I had the pear dream again”

He’s hip! He’s cool! He’s 45!

Eh, men playing women’s roles has a long tradition in British theatre - dating back to the days when women weren’t permitted to be on the stage. I’m always amazed to think that all of Willie Shakepeare’s great female roles - Portia, Lady MacBeth, Juliet, Gertrude, Ophelia, etc. - were originally performed by men (or boys) in drag.

I agree that Dave makes the best looking girl. It wasn’t until I watched Blue Velvet again recently that I realized he looks a lot like Isabella Rossellini.

Dave Foley, Kevin whathisname and Bruce McCullough are all straight. Scott Thompson is the only gay one. When they first started out doing improv sketch-comedy they stole a sweater from Dave or Kevin’s girlfriend or something and one of them played a girl and it was a huge success with their early fans so they continued to do it. I think they’re hysterical.

Dave Foley was a doll when he was younger. Of course now they’re all middle-aged…I saw them on their reunion tour two years ago. They’re still freaking hysterical.

“He’s hip. He’s 45!”

Mark McKinney is straight too…he was on SNL for a couple of years. I believe he married an American and still lives here.

Dave Foley made the best woman IMHO, followed by Bruce McCullough.

Well, since I used to work on the show, I guess I might as well toss my two cents in…

Scott is gay, and the rest don’t care what you think.

By the way, Kevin has a real boney ass, and it is real uncomfortable when he decides to sit on your lap during a party.

Step 1: Diapers
Step 2: …
Step 3: PROFIT!

“…but they made Mudgum!”

I’m really, really glad you brought that up. I’ve always thought he’s a dead ringer for Isabella Rossellini, but got weird stares whenever I pointed it out to anyone.

And on some interview show, probably “Short Attention Span Theater,” the KITH guys answered the question with, “Well, one of us is gay but we’re not sure which one.”

“Mo mo, do you like working here?”
“Oh yes, m’sieur. Everyone is so flammable.”

I want now to express my deep and abiding personal love for each and every one of you who chimed in here with quotes. I haven’t seen a KITH show in quite a while, but I’ve been sitting here laughing my arse off because I still remember most of these. Mogwei22, especially, that “thinking about Tony” one totally slew me. Absolutely did not see that one coming.

And bagkitty, you actually WORKED for them? You are now my new personal hero. I want to have your virtual love child.

  • Dave

In one KITH skit, McKinney broke character for a few moments to ridicule the idea of a white guy from Vermont pretending to be a southern black bluesman. Assuming he spoke the truth, you could say he married a fellow American and returned to the US.

[Chicken Lady] Fifty bucks! [/Chicken Lady]

[small witch child running up to camera]
It’s a fact, bagkitty actually worked on the show

30 Helens Agree, bagkitty is willing to have virtual love children with someone who used to serve on submarines… but we are going to have find a cyber-surrogate mother, bagkitty is a boy… but he also has a kinda uniform fetish and is as gay as you get, so, how about it BigGiantHead?

(Bet you never thought this was going to turn into a flirt thread, did ya?)

JERRY!!
