The last in 2011 MMP

Title says it all -this is the last MMP to be begun in 2011. Is it a time for reflection and contemplation, or are you, like me, going “Where the heck did the year go??”

Goodness knows, a lot happened in the world this past year, and in my life, also. Honestly, the only change I would have made, knowing what I know now, would have been to wait to retire till the end of this month. Oh, there are things I would like to have changed about other peoples’ lives, but none of those were within my power and some really weren’t my business.

All in all, 2011 didn’t totally suck for me, so there’s that. I figure I’ll end the year with some cleaning and some knitting and a trip to the store for cat food and kitty litter. So the year won’t be a total loss, for sure! Plus I have a lunch date with my former boss on Weds - I can get the year-end wrap-up of gossip.

Any last-minute plans to make 2011 a successful, memorable, or otherwise special year?

Happy Last Monday of The Year!!!

W00T! 1st in! I guess I wouldn’t make too many changes, since things are better than they’ve been in a while.

I’ll end the year at a bar, then cabbing home. My “just friend” is going out of town for New Years.

Hello all, and Happy Monday, if there is such a thing!

(d/b, is that you, from my old Fathom days?? - If so, great to see you again.

All is well up near the Canadian border in far northern VT. If I start to see those crazy Canucks massing at the border I’ll sound the alarm, don’t you worry. (Actually, I think they all watch reruns of old boxing matches or something today… toldja they was crazy.)

Peace and long life to all our fellow Dopers out there - hope y’all have a great New Year.

Oh, sorry - the OP:

2011 was already memorable is several ways for me, but no major changes planned this late in the year. Maybe watch less news…the political news cycle is giving me a headache.

sangfroid, yep it’s me. Welcome to the MMP!

I had some big changes in 2011, it’s been a memorable year in a lot of ways. There are always things I would have done differently if I’d known what the outcome was going to be, but without that all-important crystal ball, you just never know what’s coming.

Anyway, I am looking forward to new year in Las Vegas!

2011 was a major serving of suckitude.

I’s playing bambilance today. Yay!

Wait, ***2011 ***is over!!! This means I’m 48, my eldest daughter is 19 and in the army, and …

Where did the [del]year[/del] [del]decade[/del] millenium go???

:smack:

Dude.

You’re* old*. :D:D

What, just because my knowledge of the Russian Revolution is from personal experience?

(Actually, that’s not true. I’ve never been to Russia.)

Well, so far we’ve had a chest pain call for a frequent flyer drug addict, and picked up a 70something Alzheimer’s patient that fell out of bed.

And I’m up again. About an hour after I got this party started, I crawled back in bed and I woke up about 15 minutes ago. I’m now showered, dressed, and waiting for my sweetie to shower and dress, then we’re going out for lunch, just to get him out of the house for a bit.

Sticky, **Nooner **isn’t old - he just smells that way. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve got a few years on him and I’m fresh as a daisy!

Speaking of fresh as a daisy, my goofball youngest sister struck again! She went on a dollar store spree when buying for the nieces and nephew. My kid got a little bust of a giraffe. Yeah… Well, my niece was gifted with a tube of dollar store female yeast infection cream!       Niece will have her revenge, tho. For sister’s birthday, she’ll be getting the cream back, with hemorrhoid cream, denture paste, and probably a few more goodies.

Yeah, our family Christmas mornings are interesting. I did score on the $10 crazy swap - I got a Weazel Ball - I think the cats will love it when they quit being afraid of it. It’s a ball that rolls in random directions and it’s got a furry “weasel” attached to it. My mom picked it out. The most stolen gift was the sock monkey hat that came with some goofy socks. Goofball youngest sis stole that for the last time.

It’s a sunny and cold day here (since we haven’t gotten swampy’s weather report yet) and if I’d gotten moving earlier, I’d have hung out my laundry to dry. But that ain’t gonna happen today. Too bad so sad. 2011 will end with a higher electric bill, alas…

2011 was an interesting year anyway, I’ll give it that. with unseasonably warm winter for some reason so far.

World juniors starts today so I’ll be watching that, while contemplating the mysteries of why mild brain trauma doesn’t have an instant fix.

Damn Whippersnapper ------- I remember when the Great Schism under Nikon was just a So-So Schism!!!

(That isn’t true either but at least I’ve been to Russia. And thrown out once during the 70s.)

Yes, dear. Ooooops - never even looked to see if it was my wife or not before agreeing. :stuck_out_tongue:

STICKY - the forks were the hit of Christmas! Thanks again!

There were parts of 2011 I loved and there were parts that were major suckage, but I don’t think I’d change much.

It’s cool and rainy here.

I slept in until around 7:30. I wanted to sleep longer, but one of my dogs wanted out, so I had to get up.

I’m not doing anything or going anywhere today. I was invited to lunch with my friends, but turned the invite down. I just want to relax.

2011 was a great year for me because it was the year that I finally stuck at something through to the end and did it well (I am a massive quitter). I learned a lot and I’m looking forward to what 2012 will bring.
On a more negative side, my left sciatic is being a bitch right now and made my sleep suck. Sweetie still has sinus issues and now he has an upset stomach as well.
The goal for today is to do as little as possible. The house is clean and we have nothing outside to do (as long as Sweetie doesn’t send me out for Pepto Bismal). I’m looking forward to a day of doggie snuggles and Star Trek Online with MST3K and The Critic.

Here you go. The official holiday video of the MMP.

Yay! Thank you, too.

Forgot to tell Soapy that no dogs were harmed in the use of the ultrasonic cleaner.

Who knew babeh goats were so adorable??

We went out to get lunch then went to Lowe’s to look at a few things. **FCD **is crashed on the couch, I’ve got an afghan in the dryer (it’s all sweet and clean now) and mostly, we’re doing nothing. Yay! I’ll do chores tomorrow, but today, I’ll be a bum. Life is good.

Damn, Sticky, what does that make me?
