The last Infinity War Trailer

Well, the “tesseract” is supposed to house the Space Gem, so that fits…

They can’t introduce a new villain for Avengers 4. With so many characters on the hero side, they won’t have any time to spend dwelling on the villain. They’ll need either a cookie-cutter villain, or one who’s already introduced and fleshed out. And Loki and Thanos are the only villains they’ve had who have been at all recurring.

Ooh…maybe the infinity stones resurrect dead villains from prior movies, and Avengers 4 is the Avengers vs the assembled villains as the Masters of Evil!

Too bad Hugo Weaving has expressly stated that he has no interest in revisiting the role of Red Skull.

They replaced Bruce Banner, they replaced War Machine, they can replace the Red Skull.

Especially since you can’t see his face, anyway.

I love how Starks technology gets closer to what we’ve seen already in MCU space. His suit seems to act more like Star Lords mask, basically just appearing/changing out of nothing, probably nano based.

Black Panther’s suit does so even more. It’s possible that we’re seeing Stark incorporating Wakandan tech.

*Stark: My suit is made out of a gold-titanium alloy!
Shuri: Oooh, gold and titanium! How quaint! Is it also powered by a coal-fired steam engine?
Stark: No, it uses a micro-ARC torus fusion reactor that I designed in a cave with scraps from a missile!
Shuri: Oh, fusion. Well…that’s cute. I built one of those when I was five.
Stark: Stop it! Stop it! I’m not going to cry! I make the most advanced weapon systems in the world!
Shuri: Well, I wouldn’t want to shatter your illusions, old man. By the way, have you seen my medical tech than can fix a damaged spinal cord in minutes?
Stark: I graduated from MIT when I was fifteen! I cured Extremis and…
Shuri: …and a murderkillbot that almost destroyed the world by dropping a city on it?
Stark: This is not fair. Banner, speak up for me!
Banner: Sorry, Tony, I have nothing. The girl is pretty awesome.
Shuri: We can also fix that green rage monster problem you have, Bruce.
Banner: Have you met my friend, Thor? He used to have a hammer but he lost it.
Thor: Well, not lost it, exactly. See, my sister…
Shuri: Give me the specs and I’ll get a prototype built up for you by noon tomorrow.
Thor: I like her!
Stark: I’m…just going to sit over here with Hawkeye and Lang.
Lang: Hey, I can do stuff. I don’t just shrink and grow. I can change the texture of reality.
Strange: Just let me know when Stark stops bawling, would you? The noise is interfereing with my incantation.

Stranger

Stark may not have much on her, but I would think that Asgard is still a bit more advanced.

Well, Klaue and Crossbones, technically, but they’re unlikely to recur again after their last appearances.

Although there was a story floating around last year about Frank Grillo saying he might be in another MCU movie…

I like Shuri, and she’s very likely to say something like that (just because she seems to enjoy tweaking peoples’ noses, especially white people who think they’re superior to her), but in fairness, she’s had a lot more resources available to her than Stark did. The Wakandans clearly had advanced technology before she came along, and she’s building on the shoulders of those giants. And, of course, vibranium: We have no idea what she can pull off without relying on easy access to the stuff, nor what Stark could do with it.

As for Thor’s hammer, in his last movie, they made a point about how the Asgardians (at least, the high-powered ones like Thor, Hela, and Odin) draw their power from Asgard itself. Well, Thor now needs a new world to bond with, and it looks likely that that world will be Earth. It’s probably necessary, as a part of that, that the symbol and focus of his power be reforged on Earth, and at least partly from Earthly materials. Vibranium won’t work, because it’s not Earthly. He’d probably actually have better luck with iron.

Technically, wasn’t Mjolnir forged outside of Asgard, by dwarves in another of the 9 realms using (ironically) dwarf star material? And he should still be able to draw on the realm of Asgard, even though the city itself has been destroyed.

Asgard is not a place - its a people - they said that like several times in the movie.

Spoilers for Ragnarok:

I think they were speaking metaphorically in the sense that they can found a new home and call that Asgard.

Ah, good point that we should be spoilering the other movies.
The relevant aspect, here, of “what Asgard is” is where the gods draw their power from, and I think it’s pretty clear that Hel does not draw her power from the people, but from the place, since Thor and Loki destroyed the place while saving the people in order to weaken her.

And it’s not just the city. Sutr seemed to be laying waste to pretty much the entire floating island, not just the city which makes up most of it.
yeah - the foundation still looks good - as long as you have a good founda - oh well, that’s gone then.

It would really bum me out if they wipe out the last Asgardian survivors, as the trailer seems to imply. Thor Ragnarok was already fairly dark for such a funny movie, to make it all pointless would kinda ruin it.

You need to move. Reserved seating is what separates us from the animals.

Yeah, I’m hoping Loki uses the Tesseract to transport most of them to Earth and that’ why Thanos kills him and makes Thor watch (my interpretation of some scenes from the trailer.)
