The Last Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Anyone else just watch? I’ve never watched him much (and never found him very funny) but like any long-running show, he’s become part of the TV furniture, and I did feel a touch of nostalgia watching him go. His closing bit (which I won’t spoil in case anyone hasn’t watched yet) was sweet, and very in keeping with his image.

The Conan interview was awkward - hard to imagine two more different comedic styles. It will be very different to see how both of their new shows go.

Also, big thumbs down to the clod in the audience who yelled “CONAN ROCKS!” just as the two were saying goodbye - I agree with the sentiment, but in context it was terribly rude.

Thoughts/opinions?

First review of Conan’s show is positive:

Sadly, can’t comment on Jay’s final show until it’s up on Hulu tomorrow.

I hope the hill-jack who yelled out “CONAN ROCKS” has a flat tire at his own wedding.

A great way to end the show. You can’t say Jay Leno doesn’t know what is important in life. From the people who gave him his start to the innocent laugh of a small child…

I remember Carson’s last show, and it was amazing. This one was nothing, in comparison.

There’s a distinction that should be made: That was Carson’s last show as host, ever. Leno’s merely moving an hour earlier with a different show title–he’s really not going anywhere. HUGE distinction.
