You’re on the right track. The “Lastest” in the thread title is actually correct. It is my hope that the voters of California will see the idiocy of Issa’s ways and vote to recall him, and I am optimistic this will happen. Thus, this will be the lastest thing we as Americans will have to be subjected to by Issa.
Things were different in the 1920s. Law school was not seen as a form of post-graduate education like now which is why someone like Truman, the past POTUS to jot have a college degree, could attend without a college degree. They were seen as a trade school.
Ronald Reagan graduated from college so he was, at least technically, better educated than Truman and Truman, lacking anything beyond a high school diploma, was, at least by credentials, the least educated POTUS of the past 75 years.
Now, I don’t see why RNTB is so upset at being proven wrong. He’d be better simply questioning the idea of measuring a person’s education by whether or not the went to school, because Truman certainly wasn’t the dumbest President of the past 75 years.
You said he shot his mouth off. Maybe he just made an incorrect statement and didn’t take the time to verify its correctness here in the Pit. Maybe he should have checked it, but “shooting his mouth off” is a bit strong. Then you say he is “upset at being proven wrong.” Where in this thread is there any evidence that RNATB is upset at anything? Finally, who said Reagan, or anyone else, was the dumbest president in the past 75 years?
Btw, you shouldn’t capitalize “president” when it refers to presidents in general, only when it refers to a specific president.
You’re on the right track. The “Lastest” in the thread title is actually correct. It is my hope that the voters of California will see the idiocy of Issa’s ways and vote to recall him, crush their enemies, see them driven before them, and to hear the lamentation of their women
Guys, I don’t think that the “voters of California” have much of a say. Blame the voters of the 49th Congressional district, “that currently covers much of northern San Diego County and southwestern Riverside County.” At least I don’t remember ever getting the chance to vote for him. And considering a Cook PVI of R +10 in the area, voting him out could be difficult, although not impossible.
Speaking of crushing, driving and lamenting…Issa first rose to fame on the local level as the spearhead of the movement to recall California Gov Gray Davis. The movement was successful, and gave us The Governator, Arnold the Barbarian.
Yes, and? LBJ was not less educated than Reagan and JFK was better educated. If it makes you feel better, I also consider it ironic that they name schools after LBJ but there aren’t any around here. There are dozens of schools here named after Reagan though.
Because his dad could afford to send him to Choate and bought him a slot at Harvard and a couple of classes in business school, which later less than a semester?
Anyway, you keep shifting the goal posts and being wrong each time. You first insisted that Reagan was the least educated POTUs of the past 75 years, which blew up in your face with Harry Truman, tried to save face by adjusting that to the last 59 and are now admitting once again you’re wrong regarding LBJ, though you don’t want to admit you’re wrong regarding JFK.
Hey, “a couple of classes” worth of graduate education is, technically, a greater amount than no graduate education. I also imagine that Kennedy achieved a better education in matters of the heart; even my mother (who would’ve been a rural girl of ten when he ascended to office) admits having a crush on him. Reagan? Fughetaboutit.
Anyway. What’s all this about Darryl Isaacs, the self-styled Kentucky Hammer, formerly the equally-self-styled Heavy Hitter?
