The latest assessment essay gems

Unlike bricks. Bricks cannot feed the hungry. But they can house the hungry.

Oy.

Or they can bash in the heads of the hungry and save them from hunger.

I’m gonna chime in with a related gem, this one from a third grader. Showed up in a Mother’s Day poem in response to my exhortation to please for the love of god be specific:

It can, but it isn’t. The question we must therefore ask is: Why isn’t food doing more to solve the world hunger problem? All hunger can be cured by food, but food just sits there doing nothing.

My friends, the solution is clear. We must declare a War on Food!

Om nom nom nom nom.

VICTORY!

Two more:

The goal of wanting to be a chef has a reason big and somewhat small.

Now is the time for all of us to come together as one to stand up for what is right and for what is wrong.

Their willingness to stand up for what is wrong is what I have always admired about Americans.

Yes, why choose between Good and Evil? As Americans, we choose both!

Got a few more:

“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” That is what Kennedy said to the Japanese Americans after the Event of 1945.

You must have a goal in life, whether your goal is to sit on the couch to play video games or to climb Mt. Everest.

Teaching my brother how to drive was a long, drooling process.

I hope to glean a few more today.

Every time I read this thread, I conclude that you have the best job in the world and you have the worst job in the world.

Thank you for your service!

You are most welcome.

My primary job is teaching college students how to write and research.
Assessing incoming students for placement is my secondary job. These gems are the only part of that job that I ever take home.

Well, obviously, that’s why they called them The DARK AGES.
Edison enlightened us all!

–G!

Gem from today:

Basketball has helped me develop new skills such as teamwork, communication, and most importantly defeat.

Here are a few to last you till 2016…
Fate happens all the time.

Reality hit me as hard as Ronda Rousey.

The hair on my arms stood as tall as the Empire State Building.

Laws aren’t perfect. They are just as human as the men and women who create them.

I like the Ronda Rousey quip, although I had to look her up (UFC Bantamweight champ)

v,

How is it you don’t pay the school for doing these assessments? They’re so much fun!

Yikes! How does he even lift them. … or get into a car?

Comb-over.

Not any more.
