The Logistics Of Streetwalker Prostitution (Not Asking How To Break The Law)

When one “contracts” with a street-walker sex worker (viz, prostitutes who hang out on street corners in seedy neighborhoods), I assume the john takes her back to his place or to a nearby motel room for the deed.

If the john’s place/the hotel room is miles away from the worker’s base, how does she get back to her workplace? Like, does she just take an Uber? Does her pimp give her a ride? Is the john expected to take her back?

Don’t need answer fast.

I’ve never tested it in practice, but I always assumed the remuneration for the services would include expenses for a taxi ride.

Prostitution is basically a service industry. The customer requests a certain arrangement and the price is negotiable based on that.

In practical terms the service can be delivered in a nearby, quiet sidestreet or alley.

The service can be delivered in the customers car.

There could be a nearby motel or guest house which tolerates (or even welcomes) “couples” to book in and only stay half an hour or less.

A prostitute will be (justifiably) wary of going any distance to a location of the customer’s choosing however most prostitutes are desperate to a lesser or geater extent and if the request is made - and if the prostitute feels it is safe enough - they will charge an amount to make it profitable including getting a taxi home.

Prostitutes are regularly victims of violent crime and not getting the agreed fee is not the worst that happens to them.

Note the film “Pretty Woman” is NOT a realistic portrayal of prostitution.

Has social distancing impacted this industry, or is it considered essential?

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and said ‘We can catch diseases by visiting prostitutes? We should stop doing that’

I don’t have a cite, but I’ve read that the sex-work industry, legal or otherwise, is being devastated by the pandemic.

Greatly. In places where it is legal, brothels have obviously been closed and I am sure some things are being done to stop girls advertising on the common websites.

The sex workers are suffering because they often are not in their home country (so no social network) and their income suddenly dropped to zero. While they officially may qualify for some of the government arrangements for the self employed…very few know how to make use of that, or don’t even want to. There have been reports on tv news shows discussing the problems here.

Eta I know some sex workers are still meeting regulars, but that doesn’t help that much…and it is getting more difficult to find hotels. Many also seem to be reaching out to regulars for loans…and I know of at least one club that is letting the girls stay there while it is closed, and they can use up the supplies that are in stock.

The best known club in Zürich now has girls available for webcam sessions. At the same prices as the regular services (I’m sure the customers are standing in line).

Many years ago I used to regularly stay in a small hotel in a rather seedy part of Leeds (a town in the North of England). The lounge was on the first floor (that’s the second floor in American) which had a large window with a good view of the street. Two or three of us would be entertained by watching the ‘ladies of the night’ working the street outside. Small bets were made on the duration of a session too.

The procedure was that the woman, in the standard uniform of a short skirt, low cut blouse and high-heeled boots (this in all weathers, they must have been frozen on some evenings) would stand under a lamp post. Eventually, a car would pull up and there would be a short conversation through the window - presumably negotiation a price for whatever service was required. The woman would get into the car which would drive away.

A typical ‘encounter’ took around ten minutes, rarely as much as twenty, and that included driving to a secluded spot, doing the deed, and returning to the lamp post.

I was told that the cost was roughly equal to five hours pay for me at that time. My opinion was (and still is) that I was not going to work for that length of time to pay for something that I could do myself free of charge and with no risk.

You must be either very flexible or very well endowed.

(I would wager most of the clients weren’t just getting hand jobs.)

Based on police reports I’ve read, the prostitutes who work on street corners do their deed in the john’s car, usually just pulled around the corner from where they met.

Then there are escorts, who arrive at the John’s motel room, ostensibly to provide massages or companionship.

As a defense attorney who has represented prostitutes (and not from any personal experience  ) yeah, the money talks. It will be a cheaper price if you want a quick blow job in your car or in a nearby alley and more if you want to take her back to your home or hotel. A very bad idea because when (not if) she robs you blind, it’s not exactly like you can call the police

Then the particular sex act you want are all different prices and are negotiated up front. But again, if she does not perform the act you paid her for, you cannot take her to small claims court or report her to the Better Business Bureau. A common tactic is to wait until you have your dick out of your pants and then she takes off running screaming that there is a cop approaching. You, of course, don’t see the cop because he isn’t there, and while literally standing there with your dick in your hand you cannot run after her.

I am sure you are right, and no I am not able to DIY a BJ. I would still prefer a nice relaxed wank to a quick BJ with a prostitute though.

a couple of decades ago I was a taxi driver and would regularly take street walkers to and from work. I learned a lot from listening to them talk about their job.

First trick of the night the prostitute wants her “date” to take her to a motel room to do the deed. The client will rent the room. After the deed is done the client will leave and the prostitute will use the room for the rest of the night as her base of operations. They like this a lot as once they have earned their quota then the rest of the night they could stay in the room and party until their shift is over. Back then their quota was typical $300 for the night. Come back with less and the prostitute can expect to get a beating from her pimp. Normally the pimp would do a complete search of the prostitute to make sure she wasn’t holding out on him. This would include a full cavity search. Every penny goes to the pimp.

Everything else said above is right on target. Often the deed is done in the client’s car. And prices are always negotiated when the client and prostitute first meet.

The vignette from breaking bad that I linked below is a reasonably accurate rendition of what working as a street prostitute is like from all the reviews I’ve heard of it. Lots of really quick action, mostly in a car or right by the location. It’s an extremely dangerous lifestyle, other forms of prostitution (like ‘escort services’) tend to be much more profitable and less risky.

(Spoiler for NSFW - there’s no explicit sex, there is drug use and a head going down towards many laps).

Why is that clip flipped right/left?

Because whoever posted it thought that would prevent them from getting in trouble over copyright.
