Have you ever been to a prostitute?

I never have, and I’m just idly curious. Was it good? Worth the money? Would you do it again, or do you go on a regular basis?

Anything you’d care to relate about the experience – why you went, how you found her (or him), how much you paid, how it felt (physically or emotionally), what you learned, how often you’ve been, etc. etc. – would be of interest.

Nope, I’ve never been to a prostitute, or for that matter, hired myself out as one.

I do, however, believe that prostitution should be legal, regulated, and taxed.

Ditto.

Anyone got the link to Ask the guy who used to frequent prostitutes?

SSG Schwartz

Never, not even once. And by that I mean in the US.

Panama, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Thailand, I was a young man then, and a foolish one. I regret it. Prostitution is a nasty business and a gentleman does not support it.

I have to admit I don’t understand the appeal of prostitutes unless you’re really desperate like possibly a solider or sailor might be. Some guys think they’re the bomb, but most of the ones I’ve seen seem slightly skanky and very unerotic. Maybe the bigger ticket ones are nice, but I don’t think I could bring myself to pay as much for a blowjob as for a new notebook computer, plus I can’t see getting “into it” emotionally with a professional sex worker

Normal women with baked goods are far sexier.

If you are truly curious, you might find http://www. lettersfromjohns.blogspot.com/ and it’s sister site, http://www. lettersfromworkinggirls.blogspot.com/.

I don’t recall how I stumbled on these sites, but they answer some of your questions and they are an intriguing read. Creepy as hell at times, but intriguing.

Not that I ever planned to visit a prostitute, but that was always my thought on it as well. The ones I’d actually want to have sex with wouldn’t be worth $300 to me. The ones who cost $20, I wouldn’t want to poke with a 10’ pole, much less my penis.

It certainly can be and often is, but in my experience that’s usually a consequence of being a black market enterprise. Abuse is abuse and should never be tolerated, supported or enabled.

Like Paul in Saudi, I’ve been around, especially “back in the day”. And there are some experiences I regret, but there have also been occasions when I’ve been the client of skilled independent professionals who take pride in their craft, do excellent work, and make exactly the same choices about work and income as most of the rest of us.

I’ve been a massage therapist for the past 6 years and have learned that there is no single system of boundaries that fits all. If it’s important to you that your sexuality not be comingled with commerce then don’t do it. Many people (women as well as men) are perfectly comfortable with it. Most protestations to the contrary turn out to be politically motivated (cue Elliot Spitzer, et al).

Thanks SSG Schwartz and HongKongFooey for the link. I suppose I should have thought to search first. :smack: That thread certainly answers a lot of questions, from one (rather eloquent) person’s point of view.

I’m still interested in the viewpoints of others who have been there. (Not so much from people who haven’t.)

In the 70s, with ring boxes full of coke and nights spent gambling, yes it was worth it. The last time in 1999 with a french hooker in my tiny sports car, no it wasn’t worth the $100. IMO it’s not worth the risk these days unless you’re using an actual escort service for a night on the town. The sex was fantastic with the escorts; the bj from the french hooker was awful and reminded me why you need to pay for the whole escort experience. I’m sure I’ll be labeled a misogynist/pathetic creep for saying this, but, you get what you pay for with these things.

There’s just not a whole lot out there that can top having a perfect 10 perform fellatio on you while you’re doing 6in. rails of coke and listening to Bobby Womack(unfortunately with all the coke you have about a 50/50 chance of cumming).

I’ve been with my SO for going on 9 years now, so I don’t think a visit to a prostitute is on the horizon…

No, but a good friend of mine in Berlin was a male prostitute for many years, starting when he was about 15 years old (legal in Germany). He started off doing tricks at train station restrooms, and later had regular clients and went to callboy bars.

Heard some very interesting stories from him.

I know a lot of the girls in Thailand from hanging out in the bars. They run the gamut. Some actually enjoy the work, some need the money. It’s a completely different scene from, say, back in the US.

God bless you, astro!!

(With a good attitude like that, I’m sure you’re taken, right?)

Sigh Years ago in S. E. Asia. Were they worth it? The cost was trivial but the experience was not something I would boast about.

Nope- there is a lot to be said for the affection a loving partner can bring.

However if you don’t have such a partner- maybe a prostitute is for you.

Not even when there was a brothel across the road. Okay, there were 3 girls and they had an awful lot of male visitors who didn’t stay very long. However, were prostitution in the wider sense legalised (*) and the girl clean and reasonably priced, then I’d certainly indulge.

But, like astro, I can’t see myself forming an emotional attachment to one. Unlike astro though, while I’ll certainly go for baked goods, I really go for a woman with intelligence. One more reason why I love the Dope.

  • Prostitution per se isn’t actually a crime in the U.K. but soliciting and living off immoral earnings are.

Several years ago a friend of mine was driving home late from work and innocently pulled over to ask a lady if she needed a ride home. I guess at some point during the drive she solicited him, and he suddenly realized she was hooker. I think he said no and dropped her off, but reports are shaky.

That is actually the closest I’ve ever gotten - something that happened to a friend. I’m not entirely certain if I’ve ever actually seen one with my own eyes.

A European friend of mine, from a different board, used to tell me about visiting professional girls. They had review web sites where customers would talk about the ladies and how good they were and what they would or would not do. So then as an informed consumer you could make a better choice and get what you want.
Of course it is legal there.

As for myself, nope never have.

I’ve never approached or used a prostitute, but I can easily understand the appeal from one time I was propositioned by a real pro.
I was walking down a street in Manhattan, and caught the eye of a woman I didn’t know. As soon as she noticed, it was as if someone turned on a switch. She straightened up and her expression blossomed into a HUGE smile. Her eyes widened. She radiated intensely strong “I Like You” signals at a near-lethal level. Her entire being seemed to say “I Want to Be With You Now!”
This wasn’t real interest. Love at First Sight doesn’t operate that quickly or completely. I was nearly bowled over by the force of it. But it was immediately clear to me (how, I don’t know – I was much younger) that this was a business proposition, so I just smiled slightly and gave a very slight head shake, and the lights went out over there.

But if I’d been horny or simply very depressed that would’ve been an almost irresistable come-on. And not a word was spoken.
