Cloud Maiden just came home with two strange guys who sold her weed on the street. She says she felt like she had to invite them over for a joint because they went through a lot of trouble to get it for her.

I am home from a long day, but a good one, at work. Off to bed soon. Vertigo is slightly better, but was pretty bad earlier. I only call it vertigo because I don’t know what else to call it.

I gave into the donwanna’s yesterday, but I went to work today. I wish I’d stayed home because now I am cranky and stressed thinking about all the crap that has to get done before 12/15 so we can make our 2007 numbers pretty for the suits.
CutiePie - your rendering of your store front made me giggle because it brought back this memory: My folks and I used to frequent a diner in Queens - three, maybe four times a month, usually when none of us felt like cooking (once I got to high school, I did my share). One time, dad had gone up the steps to the door on one side of the entrance vestibule and said aloud “Aw. Use other door.” So mom and I went around to the other side and went up those steps and in that door, to see dad standing there smiling. We looked at him

I’m so glad tomorrow is Friday. It’s been a looong week. I’m leaving work just a little early tomorrow because I need to pick up my daughter prescription. I also have a couple of other errands to run before I go home.
I just let the dog out to do his business. Cripes! It’s cooooold out there. What’s worse, everything is wet, so that means we’ll have ice in the morning. I guess I better be sure to leave for work a little early. Dammit! I meant to buy gas on the way home. I’ll have to do it on the way to work tomorrow. I guess I’ll have to leave even a little earlier. I’ll need to warm the rig up too because it’s not in the garage. Stoopit boat is taking up all the space…

Okay, this new monitor is really nice. When I’m working, to make it easy on my eyes, I can crank the font up to about 150% of normal, and get the whole page width plus the line numbering (a delightful feature of all transcripts). I can see everything soooo much more easily, it’s just lovely. I could say it’s nice because my eyes aren’t getting old, huh-uh, no way. :rolleyes: But actually, I think it’s just that I spend so many hours looking at the screen, it’s no surprise my eyes get tired by the end of the day. So easier reading means less tired eyes. Yay!
The only thing I don’t like? The monitor power is no longer that nice visible-but-not-annoying green and is now that insanely-bright-and-piercing blue. Why is everyone switching to blue LEDs? What possible purpose could this serve? :dubious:
Of course the job I was going to putter on over the weekend got ordered rush today. :rolleyes: At least it’s a lovely recording, loud and clear, but it’s looong. Also, I have to admit that even after all the movies and TV shows I’ve seen with cops and FBI and whatnot, I’m always surprised when I run across a real law enforcement type in a transcript and discover that they really do sound just like they do on TV. Same tone of voice, same cop-speak, everything. I don’t know why I’m so surprised, except that it seems like they’re just acting out a stereotype or something.
Anyway, I’m going to take my not-tired eyes to bed. Don’t you international types have too much fun while us Murkins are snoring, now!
Heh, I’m looking at building a PC in January, and a friend found a REALLY nice case on Newegg I’m thinking of using. Only problem? A pair of 120mm case fans (big ass fans for a computer) that include blue LEDs that can not be switched off. So it looks like if I buy that case, I will have to buy an extra set of fans to replace the ones it comes with, or else find something to put in front of the computer at night so it doesn’t keep me up if I leave it on.
Please tell me WHY I woke up at 3:15 this morning?
I’m very crabby right now and my back is hurting too bad to go back to bed. I don’t have a UTI, by the way. But with this back pain maybe it is a kidney infection. I’m going back to the doctor on monday for a fun and exciting pap smear.
Really, that’s only half of my crabbiness, but the other stuff I don’t even want to start getting into.

I have a TV antenna with one of those lights, which means, of course, that I can’t place it on the TV as it would be staring me in the face. I turn it off when I’m not using it (I hardly ever watch TV; I use the box more as a DVD display). If I watched more TV, I would have taken it back the day I bought it. Of course, if I watched more TV, I’d probably have cable again.
Guess I’ll consider getting ready for work.

I’m up, I don’t want to be. We got a nice thin layer of snow overnight and are now in a Winter Storm Watch because we are supposed to get more snow, and possible sleet.
Today since I"m off, I need to do laundry and figure out exactly how much I have spent for each person on Christmas. I don’t have a lot planned. I’m in the mood to cook and bake. I think I might dig through recipes and see what I can make up.
It is weird to sit around and wait for work to start. I no like it. Must be there at 10 am. It’s now 0745. Why am I vertical? Oh, yeah- #2 son to get off to die Schule (no umlaut, sue me).
I have totted up what I spent for Xmas. I spent $150 too much. This is a good thing. I’ve never bothered to tot it up before… (ya wanna make somethin’ of it? Since I’m already [del]cheap as hell[/del] frugal, it’s usually not too bad)
I have a great big whatever for this day already. Do you suppose there are people who get up in good moods and stay that way? Interesting species, if so.
I’m guilty of getting up in a good mood, sometimes.
Rarely stay that way though… Life gets in the way all too often.
