I feel stupid. Didn’t there used to be a sub-forum about house repair and renovation? I have a door issue, and I thought “Oh, SDMB”, but no luck.
The Barn House, but it didn’t have much traffic so it was deleted.
Well, I’m sad for the people who liked that forum, but I’m glad I don’t have dementia.

Was the whole forum deleted, or merged into one of the other forums?
I would say ask your question in GQ or IMO, depending on how factual versus opinion it is.
I think the threads were merged elsewhere.
I believe posts from the Barn House were merged into General Questions.
They’re probably over in the Happy Thoughts forum.
The Barn House? You mean Old Man Zotti’s Forum? The forum where Little Ed went crazy and “banned” a bunch of posters–with an axe?
Yeah, they say you can still access it–you have to manually type in the URL (your old bookmarks won’t work any more) at midnight on the night of a full moon that’s also on a Friday the 13th, while only looking at your computer in a mirror.
Thing is, though, they say a lot of people who have accessed that forum never come back.
Or sometimes they come back…wrong.
I would tell you about the Lost Forum but…it’s complicated.
