I’m aware that Hole broke up awhile back. Now while I find Courtney Love and her antics to be annoying, I always liked her band’s music. So when I was in a store today and the store was playing a bunch of songs obviously by Hole that I never heard before, I was happy. I figured that there must be some Hole rarities collection that I was unaware of (even though they already had 2 or 3 of those) or possibly it was a bootleg of some sort. So with some difficulty (language barriers and all) I asked the cashier what cd she was playing. She held up the cd and said “Distillers.”
Whoa.
I had never heard of the Distillers before, but my God do they sound like Hole. So I just looked them up online and apparently there’s not a review of them out there that doesnt mention Courtney Love and how much the singer sounds like her.
So I’m disappointed because I don’t like bands that appear to rip off another band that blatantly. Oh well though.
