"The Man Who Knew"

If you missed this PBS ‘Frontline’ program, try to catch it
and if you can’t, go to:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/knew/

and read how well the FBI protected us from 9/11!

But, if at all possible, catch the program and prepare to
be riveted.

Take care :mad:

Very ironic indeed. The one bloke who could have prevented 9-11 … and they hounded him out of the Bureau … and he went to work in the WTC … and after the planes hit, just before he went back inside, he got this “look” in his eyes … and he went in … and that was the last time he was seen alive.

Truly, terribly ironic. They should have listened to what he was trying to tell them!

Why so Jomo Mojo?

He was a pain in a ‘Make the Headlines’ culture.

Particularly ironic in that he was recommended
for the position by a friend.

According to the TV Guide blurb for this episode of Frontline, acquaintances of John O’Neill report that he said “We’re in for something big” on September 10, 2001.

This sounds ominously predictive at first glance. But I’ve gotta wonder if O’Neill didn’t say something like that before Sept. 10th. Maybe he liked to say “We’re in for something big” every couple of days. If you keep making vague predictions of gloom-and-doom, sooner or later one of them is going to “come true.”

I, Chagur, will make a prediction: You WILL die.

I think you missed the main thrust of the program:
Culture clash!

Intelligence gathering is pro-active. The criminal
oriented, make the headlines culture, is reactive.

Oh, that’s right; you just read the ‘blurb’!

Great basis for commenting on an hour and
a half program. Almost like proclaming what
a great lover you are after masturbating.

If all this is about is the program itself, then it should be moved to Cafe Society.
Don’t blame others for “just” reading the blurb you linked to in your OP.

  1. What I URL’d was not just a ‘blurb’ it was PBS’s site for
    linking to all aspects of the situation, including discussion;

  2. ‘Cafe Society’? A discussion of opposing cultures with the
    government agency charged with combating the terrorism
    that led to the 9/11 TT debacle? Certainly you joke;

  3. Is ‘Jomo Mojo’ the only one that has some sense around
    here and is capable of an intelligent discussion?

Moderator’s Note: We have many posters around here who are capable of intelligent discussion.

We do not have many posters who gratuitously insult other posters, because we don’t permit personal insults in the Great Debates forum, and people who continue to make personal insults in GD very quickly lose the privilege to post to the Straight Dope Message Board at all.

Got it?

Not only ‘Got it?’
