The Mars Ghoul got another one?

No I think he’s doing ok in that department.

Moved to MPSIMS.

Thanks for that scientific answer in a topic that wasn’t intended to be too serious to begin with.

They now have a photo of a over-3 meter wide hole in the ground. Seems the braking thrusters cut out at 3 seconds, and the lander hit at north of 300Kps, with near full tanks of Hydrazine, yielding a nice BOOM.

No – Mars, Pennsylvania; home of the fighting Planets!

C’mon – you really didn’t expect them to name their sports teams Martians, did you?

Sounds suspiciously like a Martian hacker is to blame. :dubious:

ETA: 300Kps? Kuputniks?

Which actually brings a question to mind now that I read it again; did it make or boom or just the results of a boom? In a limited atmosphere like Mars what kind of decibels would it make/reach?

So, what you are saying is that we caused a Mars-shattering KA-BOOM?

Is there anything on Mars that would detect the tremors from the crash?

I know Apollo left some seismo stuff on the Moon and they detected the crash of LMs and such.

Some data might be useful if it can be used to determine how hard it crashed and if there was a kaboom.

It’s the only way to be sure.
