No season 2 coming, the show is cancelled. Therefore, Mike Flanagan laid out the entire second season online for everyone to find out what would have happened. Looks like Season 2 would have likely been the conclusion, kind of like a second half of the story. You can read it below, but it is not getting made.
Too dark for TV, but one of the best shows on Netflix. I am sorry it did not get a chance for this S2. But TV got to make money and they don’t get new subscribers from deeply dark stories I guess. Meditations on our impending death and void are not what people want to see.
They never finished GLOW. They never finished The Midnight Club. They ended Bojack too early. Really disappointed in Netflix.
Oculus is another good film that he did.
I’m on the final episode and I’ve really enjoyed it.
It is like an anthology wrapped in a compelling story.

All studios are unreliable, impatient, fickle, dollar-hungry enterprises. It is the nature of the beast. As to Bojack, though - that was at least cancelled properly. They gave the creator an early heads up and allowed him to end the show naturally. I can’t nitpick the ending of Bojack - it was brought to a highly satisfactory conclusion.
I have far more ire towards them when they don’t give well-rated or reviewed shows any chance to tie up loose ends (yeah, if most people hate it or are indifferent, of course go ahead and pull the plug whenever). Last minute cancellations may occasionally make financial sense, but they’re creative black holes that really shouldn’t be perpetuated. Make it a policy to always cancel at the beginning of or before a season (“this is going to be it guys”), not the end and let the creators get somewhere.
