The Mighty Boosh

The live show is available on dvd and well worth watching. Not the Electric Sailors show - the first one. It’s a long version of ‘Tundra’ - but very different. I saw them on that tour and it was the funniest night of my life.
I thought the 3rd series writing dropped away, but they are still heroes to me.
Vince’s Mick Jagger impression is guaranteed to make me weep with laughter.

Mrs Macau hates them, but I love her.

I just played a scene from the pilot and the re-shot version from Tundra. The laugh track in the pilot made the scene nearly unwatchable and even made it impossible to hear the lines. I’m glad they ditched it for Tundra.

I found some medium blue organza with silver speckles, and matching blue lace while tidying today. I am taking this as a sign that he should go as Naboo.

I have some stretch silver and royal blue broad cloth. I think with these I can make a passable first season Naboo costume.

I can understand that. At least to me, it did not seem that it was meant to be funny that Howard was being abused[sup]*[/sup]. That seemed dead serious, and quite appalling. I was sucked in worrying about him and what would happen next. I liked that there were no easy options for Howard to get out of the situation, or Vince to help him out. I’m glad they did not pretend that domestic abuse has an easy answer[sup]**[/sup]. But them fleeing the police in that car was hilarious.

[sup]*[/sup]Just that it was by an imaginary coconut woman that Vince devised. It all put me in mind of Rimmer playing “Better than Life”.

[sup]**[/sup]Although in this case it did. That answer was wake up, you’re dreaming/imagining this.

I love that episode, and honestly I think the domestic violence bit adds to my enjoyment, because it’s so dark and unexpected. A man marooned on an island, slowly going crazy, fashioning himself friends and/or wives out of plant materials…yeah, that’s kind of the standard desert island scenario. The man imagining the plant-wife abusing him? That’s truly bizarre.

Unrelated to that part, in that episode you can see that Julian Barratt has a big scar on one of his shoulders. I don’t think he’s ever talked about it in an interview, but I’ve always been curious how he got it. It looks like a bear bit him or something.

I’d forgotten all about this show, I think I might have stolen a copy of my sister’s DVD of the first two seasons (the third’s lazily written and a bit rubbish) I should check them out again.

I LOVE Might Boosh! So much so that I made my Jack-O-Lantern a Boosh-O-Lantern this year. See?

Wow. If that’s the best the show has to offer, I feel perfectly justified in not wanting to see any more.

Be that way, but having a bit of context, I find that bit hilarious for no good reason.

I have watched all but one episode. I think the Chosen One has one of the most erotic scenes I have ever watched and no one is even talking about sex. I think that peacock feather scene makes that my favorite episode.

Canukistanis can watch on the freshly flung onto the ass end of your cable box Bite TV. Also eps online there. Well, just the first ep. Watch from the beginning!
