Indeed they do, and supposedly the flood can be equated to general existence. And interestingly the titular Waters of March came at the end of summer, with ‘autumn closing in’ (to borrow a Bob Seger lyric) — having been written for the southern hemisphere.

However the writer also wrote the English translation, in which the Waters of March presumably refers to flood waters heralding the end of winter.
