The future ala’ 1965-1970: When men wore tight fitting jackets and really groovy shades. When women wore lots of mascara and little clothing. When architecture was The Jetsons, art was pyschedelic, cars and planes future-retro, and fashion polyester. Rockets, hovercraft and monorails. When superspies fought secret organizations for the fate of the world, and looked damn cool doing it. When everyone had an underground lair. When everything was going to be just so, so… so MOD!

In the film version of Fahrenheit 451, the monorail in the background has only one track, but the train passes in opposite directions about every thirty seconds. Evidently, there were only two stations on the line and they weren’t very far apart.
Man there is something about that mod future retro stuff. Something swinging. Several months ago I saw a movie called Zeta One and/or The Love Factor and is was crazy. Two characters spend the first 20 minutes playing strip poker and the final scene has the hero taken to the amazon planet to live a life of luxury and sex. He even has a go-go dancer dancing endlessly dancing in front of him. I don’t quite get why there always seems to be a go-go dancer in situations like this, but I certainly appreciated watching it.
