Another vote for Canada here. They just don’t seem to bother anyone. All of the Scandanavian and Benelux countries also seem to be universally liked.
Canada would be great, if it wasn’t for all the Canadians in it.

I think New Zealand might win, now that people have heard of the country from those LotR films. Or maybe Singapore, though I don’t know if they are good neighbours as a country I have heard nothing but respect for the politeness of the people of Singapore.

The others barely make up for you foisting the bolded two on an unsuspecting world.
Sweden’s the only country which lived up to the Bretton Woods promise (foreign aid equalling 2% of GDP every year) out of the thirty or so who agreed to it; they should be the most liked.
Japan held up its end for a while but they provided aid in the form of heavy equipment and so forth (and of course made money providing parts and maintenance for said equipment).
Of course, a ton of those cites have to do with various Americans pissed off with things including right-wingers claiming that various leftist groups hate America (Al Franken’s name pops up, for instance), U.S. hate crime laws etc. etc.
But it’s still nice to be #1.
The problem with picking countries for “most loved and respected”, naturally, is by the time you find a nation that doesn’t offend in some way or another, it is so tiny and out of the loop that it hardly matters.
I googled “hate Liechtenstein” and got a hit, amazingly. Per capita that makes Liechtenstein the most hated nation in the world. Oh, and Yahoo’s job site promises all sorts of great stuff is available when you type in Liechtenstein, such as:
