The most rockinest song about rockin

I forgot to mention **Rock the Nation **by Montrose, featuring Sammy Hagar:

I get my own education
when my homework is done
I’m 'bout to rock the nation
'cuz I wanna have…fun.

From a rockin’ standpoint, this makes perfect sense - why else would you want to rock the nation except, of course, to have fun? That is certainly my goal when I set about rockin’ the nation…

Argh! Simul-post!

Rock and Roll High School by the Ramones must be acknowledged:

Beat you by [holds fingers just a tiny bit apart] that much! :stuck_out_tongue:

“Rockin’ the Suburbs” by Ben Folds Five
Aaah…maybe no?

Rock On - David Essex

“Please don’t rock me tonight
I’m not in the mood”

-Fountains of Wayne

“Can’t Stop Rockin’” by ZZ Top - this one is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the thread title

Others not already mentioned that come to mind:

“There’s Only One Way To Rock” by Sammy Hagar

“Rock 'n Roll Band” by Boston

Useless trivia: Both “Rock On” and “Long Live Rock” are on the soundtrack of the cult(?) classic(?) “That’ll Be The Day”.

P.S. – Montrose also did a great version of “Good Rockin’ Tonight”.

Livin’ After midnight,
Rockin’ to the dawn,
Lovin’ til the morning
Then I’m gone, I’m gone.

Twenty Flight Rock - Eddie Cochran

A forgotten gem by a gem of a forgotten band:

Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight: Spinal Tap

“Little girl it’s a great big world, but there’s only one of me…”

Rockin’ In The Free World - Neil Young

I said I know it’s only rock’n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do

The Stones

Steve Miller - “Rock 'n Me”
Dave Edmunds, Chuck Berry - “Let it Rock”
John Fogerty - Rockin’ All Over the World"
Ten Years After - “Rock and Roll Music To the World”
Phoebe Snow, Johnny Rivers, Huey ‘Piano’ Smith & the Clowns -
“Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Wogie flu”
Preston Epps - “Bongo Rock”

This song is about the rivalry of two boy bands of the era, Queen and Kiss, with their makeup.

Really? I’ve never heard that. Can you provide a cite - I’m not trying to be a weenie, I would just like to learn more…

R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. By Mellencamp

Wait a minute. Has anyone mentioned the seminal hit about rockin’?

Rock Around the Clock - Bill Haley and the Comets
