The Movie Game

Python II

Need to get a ruling on television movies. What does the house think?

Gfactor … got another feature film for this guy?

I think it opens it up awfully wide; theatrical releases keep the choices limited and makes the game more difficult. What’s the OP say?

I agree with you, FWIW.

The Power Within

I’ve been paying this game on long car trips and throughout longer late-night coffee sessions for several years, and overtime the following guidelines were developed.

I haven’t read the entire thread, so my apologies if anything is restated here.

  1. Sequels count as one answer. If I say Evil Dead, all actors/actresses in any of the series are immediately fair game, and the rest of the series titles are unavailable. This eliminated the embarassing “wheels of horror” we encountered with Star Wars and other franchises.

  2. Voices (and, consequently, cartoons) are completely out of bounds. This was originally included to keep the game moving smoother and simpler, when we didn’t have a copy of the “Bible” handy.

  3. Qualification. Anyone stumping all other players (unheard of in a forum format, I’m sure) must be able to answer their own stump in order to gain a point. If they cannot, they still stop the thread and start a new one.

  4. Duplication. No title or name can be used twice in any continuous thread.

  5. No point can be earned on the opening title/name. If I open with Galopoli (sp?) at a table who’s never heard of it, they can all pass and I get nothing.

Thanks, Gfactor

BTW, all – I’ve found an even faster way to search this thread for names or titles. Use the “Search This Thread” option toward the top, right underneath where the page numbers are.

That’s even faster than the Advanced Search … and it checks only this thread.

I was gonna point that out, but got distracted.
