The Movie Game

Yeah, I know he was in that (he starred), that’s why I went that way. It’s late, but I just got back into town less than an hour ago. It’s been a very long day.

Now let’s use the wonderful Mr. Braugher’s turn in

City of Angels

and see if anyone can tie in another famous TV detective.

You got it…

Dennis Franz

He was in Blow Out.

Does the man ever play anything but a cop?

I don’t think so. As for Blow Out, it was directed by DePalma, so Nancy Allen must have been in it.

tsk Such cynicism in one so young.

The Buddy System

You’ve done it. You’ve managed to name a movie I’ve never even heard of. I don’t think that’s happened until just now. Congratulations!

I WIN!! I WIN!!! Okay, Nightwatch Trailer, I have stumped the master. What do I get? (on a Neil Simon movie yet…)

Well, see, typically the person who can’t make a play gets the letter M. First one to spell “MOVIES” loses.

Shibb: M
Maureen: No letters

Who’s up for round two?

(You guys are astonishing…I’ve heard of MAYBE a third of the movies used in this game. I’ve probably actually SEEN fewer than a tenth.)

Ok, small correction, wasn’t Neil Simon. :o

For the record, I am stumped, too.

I can’t be the only person who saw this. Richard Dreyfuss is an inventor, and Susan Sarandon is a single mom. The Star Trek kid plays her son, and Nancy Allen is Dreyfuss’ gold digging airhead girlfriend.

Yeah, yeah, I know this one.

Wil Wheaton

Has Susan Sarandon ever played a woman who wasn’t single?

Wait. I know this…I do!! Um. Wasn’t she the mom in …no, no, divorced there…
Okay, wait so how about…um, no not there either.
HA!! The Banger Sisters. She was married to the stiff. That movie was kinda close to home, too…

She played the mom in Little Women. And she was engaged in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Does that count?

Actually, right after I posted that, on the way to cook some rolled flank steak stuffed with mozarella and spinach (matched nicely with a 2000 Terrazas Malbec – I mention for the fair and lovely Maureen), I thought, wasn’t she married to Nick Nolte’s character in Lorenzo’s Oil?

Shibb. Stop. Yer makin me blush. :o Now I’m going to have to post to that pic thread to show you how wrong you are…

What, are you telling me that it wasn’t Sarandon and Nolte in Lorenzo’s Oil (yet another movie I only know from the trailers)?

You’re impossible. Yes, it was Susan Sarandon. That was a very depressing movie, I could only watch about the first half hour of it.
Back to the grind. Nightwatch Trailer, are we on the second round?
Responding to cbawlmer’s post:

Toy Soldiers

Okay, okay, you know we’d love to see a pic of you. Something a bit racy, with a bikini and a seven card stud table involved, would be best. You know you have to get that sort of thing out of your system before you get married, right?
