sticks tongue out at cbawlmer
supervenusfreak and twickster are really great at movies like this. We’re all musical fanatics.
Did we do Howard Keel yet? If so, then, um…Edward Arnold would prolly give us the most play.

C’mon, somebody steer this puppy back into modern times (no, I’m not suggesting Eddie Arnold was in Modern Times, although I suppose he could have been), or at least to some years after I was born.
I think this will lead to actors that might be considered modern:
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
K. Go with Jimmy Stewart
Flight of the Phoenix
How about Sir Richard Attenborough ? That could bring us to the present age.
He was in Elizabeth, right?
Geoffrey Rush
(He opens up some intriguing possibilities…)
Quills
let’s try Joaquin Phoenix.
Excellent call on Quills, that’s actually what I was thinking of with Rush.
We just watched Parenthood this weekend, and there was a young kid in there with the same scar as Joaquin. So we watched the credits and it shows Garry is played by “Leaf Phoenix”. I’m assuming that was Joaquin’s name when he was a pup.
BTW, despite having Steve Martin and a family sounding name, this is not a film to watch with your six and eight year old in the room. I’m just saying.
I so agree with you ShibbOleth. It is definitely not a children’s movie. But then again parenthood, in general isn’t for kids or the weak of stomach too. LOL. But it has such a great cast. I really like Rick Moranis in it.
Thanks.
And here is confirmation from the AMG on “Leaf”
Was gonna play Rick Moranis, but I see I have been beaten to the punch. . . .
My Blue Heaven
Joan Cusack’s in that, isn’t she?
and also in
Grosse Pointe Blank, which I have yet to see all the way through . . .
I just watched that on Saturday (right before my 10 year high school reunion!). Love that movie.
