The Movie Game

Forest Whitaker

I’d just like to point out that with roger’s post, this is now the longest non-locked thread on the Dope.

Battlefield Earth (now there’s a flick I doubt I’ll ever screw up the courage to view!)

roger: I guess your “Ellen Bursten” remark illustrates one reason why we can’t edit. If we could, I’d be going back and correcting the “Ellyn” gaffe right now, thus rendering your mot less juste… :smack:

Kelly Preston

Am I the only one who’s noticed that all this Scientology that movie stars are so hot for was thought up by a guy who wrote science fiction for a living? I mean, are they totally unable to add two and two and come up with four? HEL-LOOO???

I’m going to spend my 599th post on SpaceCamp. Saw it in the theater!

I think everyone else is embarrassed to admit they actually watched it. :stuck_out_tongue: I did, I had a huge crush on Tom Skerritt at the time. We’ll go with him.

Have we done Top Gun yet this time? I had some better ones but either I’d played them in round 1 or they’ve been played in round 2 already. Or both.

Anthony Edwards

Was about to say Boy in the Plastic Bubble, but that was his schtick in Northern Exposure :smack:

The Sure Thing.

Nicolette Sheridan

Beverly Hills Ninja

You. Are so. Not. Right.

Chris Farley.

So many gems to choose from.

Tommy Boy

Yeesh. Amazing how quickly things can go downhill.

David Spade.

Could be worse. Amazing what a couple fingers of Glenfiddich can do for one’s outlook on life…

Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag

I’m not trying to be snobby, but I really don’t know most of these movies or who is in them. Just not what I’d spend my hard-earned money on. Might watch them if they ever appeared on TV. Sure, I could tell you that Spade and Farley were in Tommy Boy, but nothing beyond that. (FWIW I like David Spade in The Emperor’s New Groove.) And for Og knows what reason I always confuse Nicolette Sheridan and Toni Collette, even though they are like night and day.

Mo, have you actually watched that movie? Is it any good?
I should also point out that, sadly, I have posted more to this thread than in Great Debates. Although not by that much.

It’s not too bad. Certainly not Beverly Hills Ninja bad or Tommy Boy bad. More “madcap” than “stupid”, but with some “stupid” in there too.

Joe Pesci, hasn’t been used this round.

Casino. BTW, what’s the cutoff date between round 1 and round 2? I almost used a different one, but wasn’t sure on the switch.

Ummm… late July sometime, wasn’t it?
Shibb, it really wasn’t too bad. Watching Anthony Edwards have a melt down and chasing people around with a head gave me the giggles. 'Course, I also like the Three Stooges, so you can’t really take my word for much. :stuck_out_tongue: That, and, I watch a lot of dreck in the throes of insomnia.

Um. What’s his name. That guy. The one I always get mixed up with Rip Torn. Crap. Now I have to go look. Alan King! Yeah, him.

Nicolette Sheridan? My GOD, the woman’s had more work done than Joan Rivers! Okay, I exaggerate. But not by much.

Well, I don’t see it, but whatever. Anyway, it works, because the other film I considered with Pesci was Casino, and I’m fairly sure he was in that, too.

With Collette and Nicollette it’s the name, not the actress.
