Has anyone seen the movie Chicago? I went with a group of friends tonight after I was outvoted (I wanted to see Adaptation), and I did not like it at all. The only redeeming parts of the movie were John C. Reilly’s performance and Lucy Liu’s cameo.
Reilly, however, seems to play the same character in every movie in recent memory.
Maybe there’s something I’m missing that makes me dislike this movie so much…a couple of my friends loved it. Any ideas?
I thought it was great! Perhaps I just like these kind of song-and-dance numbers better than you do. In addition to really enjoying the musical numbers, I also liked the story and the humor. As I said in my post in a different thread on these boards, it was not as good or as funny as Moulin Rouge was last year, but I liked it just the same.
If you would like to see what many others have thought of this film, check out the Chicago threadthat’s been getting posts for the past couple of weeks.
My impression without actually counting posts is that several Dopers thought it was great (as I did), most liked it and a few agreed with you.
