the movie quote thread (a game)

fuck! we were warriors once!

I don’t know, but welcome to the boards!

Once were Warriors?

“When your journey is complete, you will love his stink.”

I don’t know yours…but my favorite is :

English, mother f****, do you speak it?

This one should be easy. And the movie it comes from must have at least 100 great quotes.
Anyone know it right off?

Pulp Fiction…Usually with these kinds of games you don’t post a new question until the standing one is answered. If you start doing that then it gets all confusing and nobody knows who’s answering whos questions. Not to mention the threads with 30 drive-by questions for every 1 answer.

Sorry, Cisco. Thanks for posting the rule. The warriors once quote sounds like something out of Braveheart or The Patriot. I can’t seem to place it though. Sounds familiar though…

It would have to be either “Once were warriors”, or the sequel “What becomes of the broken hearted”

SHAFT…can you dig it?

Tee-hee! When I was in third grade we had to write a story in groups, and my group wrote about Jabba the Slut. We thought it was really funny. But our teacher didn’t. She was like “Do you even know what that word means?” and, having looked it up in the dictionary not ten minutes prior, we sure did. “A slovenly woman.” Good times.

Oh, and the quote’s from Dr. Zhivago. Go you. Although I thought that the English quote was correctly id’d from Pulp Fiction.

I think we should set up some ground rules, since our OP didn’t come back and post anything else yet. No new quotes until you answer the old ones! If you answer one, you can add one. If you answer two, you can add two. If you answer one, you can’t add 15. Since we’ve got two open, let’s just have two open at any given time. Can you dig it?

So, up for grabs right now:

F*ck! We were warriors once!

and

When your journey is complete, you will love his stink.

Tenebras, the unofficial arbiter of good taste and layer down of rules. Take that, beatch.

By the way, does anybody even know if these actually come from movies? I didn’t know either of them, and when I went googling, out of curiosity, I couldn’t find anything… Sigh.

It was, but I just watched Shaft (can you dig it?) with that bad mother (shut yo’ mouth!) Samuel L. Jackson last night, and he says the line again, which caused me to giggle mightily.

Dr. Zhivago is correct!

Apologies for all the bad Shaft references,
signed Sarah,
the black private dick who’s the sex machine with all the chicks.

yeah sorry, it’s “fuck we, Once were Warriors”

okay;

One, two, three, four *horrible music * Never had **one ** lesson.

“Never had one lesson” is Matthew Broderick in Ferris Beuler’s Day Off

Next quote:

“Quite a feeling to live in fear, isn’t it? That’s what it is to be a slave.”

OMG. That’s our Rutger Hauer isn’t it? In “Blade Runner”?

Great taste in movies you have.

** "Mr. Lundegaard? Mr. Lundegaard?.. "

I believe that would be Fargo.

and now:

Perhaps I’m not as stupid as I am ugly?

Galaxy Quest.

“Wash day. Nothing clean. Right.”

The Terminator?

[in case I’m right- otherwise ignore]: "Jesus? Why you calling me Jesus? Do I look Puerto-Rican to you? "

Samuel Jackson as “Zeus” in Die Hard 3

OK, time for something a little more obscure…

" I just can’t drink whiskey like I used to could. I get the shits everytime dontcha know."

hint: In this scene, the speaker of the quote is talking to a character played by a famous rock artist
