Whoo! It’s silly and bad.

Ok, got it last night and created a couple of MSTie worthy flix so far…

However everytime I try to go online I get a connection error. Grrrrrr… Cable modem…always online…what the eff?

Ah, firewall issues. And I guess I only saved one of my movies. Luckily it was my “good” one. I can’t help but crack up over he lousy death scene though.

For my own sence of pride I have redone my space epic :). It is now one single bad movie rather than an apparent collage of many unrelated bad movies.

Ok, just loaded up a very short one, inspired by the random name generator…

Kinda dark, but what do you expect for a hand painted film?

That was actually coherent and FUNNY. Great music change, too.

How about we post the link to our full listing instead of individual titles? That way we can see everything each of us has done.

I corrected Ghouls’ Night, because the sound and music didn’t render the first time.

Can do!

Someone had already taken “MaxCarnage” :frowning:

A couple of questions.

  1. Has anyone bought the Prima guide? Does it discuss more on how to make movies, or more of the strategy side of the game?

  2. Maybe I just can’t find it, but is there a screen that shows a compilation of my stars’ problems? Such as, how high their trailer and entourage bars are.

One more:

When I first started, I could assign two screenwriters to two different genres, but when I restarted the game, I can only assign all my screenwriters to one story at a time, per building. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Right click on the star’s picture. All the available information should pop up.

Yeah, but I’m looking for a compilation screen. Something that shows all the stars at once.

Sorry, I misread that. I don’t think such a screen is included. They sacrificed statistics screens for their “intuitive” interface. Too bad that we still have to deal with all these statistics, but can’t see them easily.

Well, after laughing at some of the movies that were linked here and the Gay Westerns in the review, I decided to pick this up along with the Prima guide. I’ll probably spend tomorrow making movies of my own.

When you get a chance, swing by Ray Smo Studios (see link above) and check out my new actioner, *Superguy: The Story Begins"! I’m honestly pretty proud of this one, and hope to make a trilogy out of the Superguy character. Unfortunately, the (for some reason uncredited) Ian Kowalski is getting to old to play the part and will probably be replaced in “Superguy 2: Electric Boogaloo.”

My studio page is

http://movies.lionhead.com/studio/WOLFMAN

It includes my new Flash Gordon type show “The count of Corlagh Part 1” It’s only the first half, because when I try to make a movie of more than 12 or so scenes my studio falls apart. Part two will be created and posted soon.

I wish I had dialog though, but I got no mic and no friends. If anybody is really bored, and has a mic and wants to be famous and email me some voice bits let me know.

The story of Liberty Studios is a atypical Hollywood tale. We had a small stable of stars, which suited us well in the early days of Hollywood. Our sole director was the most famous face in Hollywood, and won an award designating such at every ceremony. By the time World War II ended, it took longer and longer to make a movie, as the cinema-going audience demanded more engrossing movies. Our stable was so small, we could only make one movie at a time- which was a setback. Most of the films were written by our team of scriptwriters*, but the first film I wrote**, Buck-Buck Barbarossa, an old-fashioned chickens-versus-Nazis adventure, was a disaster story…at least on set. The script was judged by the Hollywood rags as well-written, and the film opened to critical appreciation and became the fourth most popular movie of all time. But neither one knew the problems behind the scenes. Filming took over a year. The director was stressed out, and had to be coaxed by myself to stay on the set. Then, almost two-thirds of the film had to be reshot, as one of the lead actors got stinking drunk and was unable to act. He was summarily fired, and his role recast…although, this meant that, due to our small stable of stars, General Rommel was played by a woman. Will Liberty Studios survive? Who knows? But I’m having a lot of fun running it.

*The only film that was written by my team of scriptwriters that I improved with subtitles (I don’t have a microphone) was Way of the Man, which, with printed dialogue, became a story of an old man who had to kill his daughters after they followed a greaser to an alien planet. It did well at the box office, and seemed to catch the memes of the late 1950s: teenage rebellion, anti-Communism, and space interests.
**In the 1930s, I wrote a film called Calamity Jane Strikes Again!, a cowboy film about a foiled bank robbery. However, this film is lost, as I deleted it when I decided to restart my game. It was not as successful as Buck-Buck Barbarossa. Nor did it involve actors in chicken costumes.

Okay, so I caved and bought the game this weekend, and spent much of today playing it.

My Studio Page, with two movies (one somehow deleted and then reuploaded, so it’s listed twice). And man, posting online is vicious. I know I’m not making great cinema my first time through the game, but the two movies I posted so far amuse me. So to the jerks who instantly swooped in with “that sucked,” bugger off. Give me one star and don’t insult me. I didn’t post-produce these, because I’m still learning the basics of the game, and don’t want to bother with advanced functions yet.

If you want to see my two halfway decent trivial, silly attempts so far, here they are:

Stinky - aka The Curse of Dr Halitosis.

Little Titan - Kicking a robot in the butt seems the surest way to make it go psycho on you.

I can only assume by one brief one-star rating and rude “Its not your own movie,” that the snobs have already taken over and declare that anything unedited by the user prior to posting is verboten?
