The Muppets do Bohemian Rhapsody

Most likely. But it’s probably easier for Animal that way, as I doubt he can speak more than one word in succession.

Nothing really matters, but MOI!

Do they have YouTube in heaven? Cause I’d love to know Freddie’s reaction to this.

Queen’s official website remarks that this is “quite possibly the finest cover of Bohemian Rhapsody ever.” I am unsure what Mr. Mercury would think, although I imagine Gonzo would loved to have met him, given his interest in wanting to meet the Zanzibarbarians. (Of course, Gonzo also wanted to start his movie career in Bombay years before doing so was actually profitable, so it’s hard to know what’s going on with that guy. After all, he once lost a wrestling match to a brick.)

I reckon. I was wondering as the song began how they were planning to handle that and the “Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me…” lyrics; not a good Disney fit.

I loved Kermit at the end. Wonderful to see the Muppets again. Nicely done!

Watching this, I felt simultaneously maudlin about Freddie Mercury and Jim Henson. I"ve never really anticipated a set of circumstances that would elicit that particular emotional admixture.

Can I get a little help with the lyrics sung by Dr. Teeth?

He’s not singing “So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye/So you think you can love me and leave me to die” but I can’t make out what it is that he actually is singing. The second line is maybe something about “We’re not getting paid tonight”?

Using Animal was a good way to avoid “just killed a man, put a gun against his head”. It’s a pretty solidly established character trait that he can’t get through more than a few words and will usually use no more than one (two gets tricky and there is room for error: “beat drums!” becomes “eat drums!”).

Having him break the lyrics opened up the entire song for reimagining which, retroactively, justifies his “Mama, mama, mama” as being something better than just wussing out on the “killed a man” lyric.
I agree with Daddypants, Beaker turned in an excellent performance.

Strive though they may, it’s always tough for the later generation characters to get recognition when featured alongside the classic characters. So, I will make a point of acknowledging that Pepe the (King) Prawn turned in a performance worth highlighting.

So they tell us this video’s going to fly
All I know is we’re not getting paid tonight

Thank you!

Which was sung by drummer Roger Taylor, btw.

The Muppets have a long history of musical… adaptations.

Have some more.

What they did to A Little Help From My Friends has to be seen to be believed.

Beaker! I love that guy!

Something has been bothering me about this video, but I haven’t been able to put my finger on it - until now. It’s the violence!

For instance, the shot of the monster eating the rats. Isn’t it the general consensus these days that showing such a traumatizing event to children will cause irreparable damage to their psyches? The poor kids will wind up in therapy for the rest of their lives… or worse, grow up to become thieves and murderers!

Then there’s the guy who keeps blowing stuff up. Isn’t it common knowledge that if a kid sees something like this, he will immediately procure several tons of TNT and vaporize his entire neighborhood? Didn’t the Muppets learn from that Beavis and Butt-head incident? Isn’t this why the good folks at Warner Bros. have edited out all of the [del]funniest[/del] violent parts of their cartoons?

We must think of the children. I recommend that this video be banned, and every last Muppet slaughtered.

Not every Muppet, please. The lovely and peaceable Miss Piggy would never cause physical harm to anyone.

Neither could Freddie. That was Roger taylor that did al the high singing.

raises hand

I think the Muppets have seriously declined in quality since Jim Henson died.
