The Myron Cope Memorial Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

What a weird game. Pittsburgh dominated without every getting close to a touchdown.

Wow, what an ending! Even with the replay I didn’t see the forward pass. Either way was good for the win!

Ocho Stinko has been benched by the Bengals for the game tonight against the Stillers.

I’m not sure how anyone will be able to tell the difference - on the bench or on the field, against the Stillers he is usually a non-factor!

As a Bengals fan I am painfully aware of the truth in this statement.

Rumor is that Chad showed up late for a team meeting last night at 8:30pm, Marvin called him on it, Chad copped an attitude about it, and Marvin sent his ass back to Cincinnati.

Fuck Chad Johnson. I can’t stand him nor his BS theatrics. Give me another TJ Houshmanzadeh instead.

Not that Chad not playing matters much. We’re already down Carson Palmer, now we’re also down two starting olinemen, a starting WR…this isn’t going to be pretty tonight, but like any fascinating train wreck, I will still watch…

alas, I do not have the NFL channel. I will have to be content with highlights. :frowning:

I’m going to the game, yay! It’s going to be cold as balls tonight

How 'bout those Steelers?

Sure, they started slow, but damn if that defense wasn’t unstoppable (as usual).

A friend recorded it - we are going to watch on Sunday. I was going to try to not find out the score, but heard it straight off when I turned on the radio this morning.

I had a first date last night so didn’t get to watch the game. Sorry fellas but she was a red-head and well… sometimes a man has to re-prioritize!

I did take a few bathroom breaks to check my text messages from friends sending me score updates! Haha!

Anyone see this story? Step aside, Mean Joe; Polamalu will star in ad reprise

I have a friend who loves that commercial. He also is a fan of Troy. I’ll have to send him the link.

Yeah, I’m quite fond of that commercial and Mean Joe. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not a good start!

I take comfort in the fact that I have said this more than once this year and we still managed to pull it out.

So at 8-3 we are playing a must-win game today. Assuming that the Ravens and Colts win again next week, if we lose to the Pats today and the Cowboys next week we will not only relinquish the division lead, but we will drop out of wild card window.

Unless we play flawlessly today and next week, our season may be over.
And…off to a bad start.

Holy hell what an ending to the half. That last drive nearly stopped my heart. Dropped balls in the end zone and then a missed kick? These guys are gonna stop my heart.

Wow. The D is just chewing them up. Fumble after fumble! And Ben and crew are converting after.

Only one more quarter to go!

Is it too soon to sound the death knell for the Patriots’ dynasty? I don’t think so. They got absolutely humiliated today.

Well Brady will probably be back next year, and does not fall victim to Matt Cassel’s first year mistakes.

And if Moss hadn’t dropped two easy passes, this game may have been a very different story.

You want to sound the death knell for a team that’s over .500 despite losing the league MVP, its #1 tailback, best linebacker and best defensive back?

Oookay.

What a fantastic second half! The best D in the league.

They got beat by a quarterback who has been chronically injured this season, a third-string and practice squad running back (Moore and Russell), and an offensive line that has more holes than the Maginot Line.

Pittsburgh has been living off their defense this year, and everybody knows it. All they had to do was stop a statistically below average offense and put up a few points to win. Instead we were treated to the worst case of the drops since Jackie Smith in Super Bowl XIII.

You can call it an atypical performance if you like, but look at their record this year. It’s not the same Patriots that reloaded and dominated no matter who they played over the last few years. Did Brady really mean so much to them? Perhaps they should have thought about that before going with backup-for-life Cassel, who clearly isn’t anywhere near the guy people were making him out to be.
