GODDAMMIT, I lost my cable feed just before the first drive so all I can do is listen on the radio and I hear him throwing an interception to a 340 lb DE
This sucks, go D, get after the rookie!

Hope next year they stream all games not just Sunday Night Games. Flacco isn’t throwing that bad, and our pressure isn’t phasing him much as of yet.
What has happened to the team I saw play the Texans? They look the same, but I think someone else has invaded their bodies. Where is our offense?
These past two weeks have been absolutely pathetic.
Wow, that O line is really really bad.
I wouldn’t worry, as we’ve found out from your fellow fans pass blocking is like 1478th on the list of things that matter to a football team’s performance, right after how the punter ties his shoes.
Of course it’s not looking so hot in any aspect for that matter.
It looks like 8-8 might win the AFC North.
I learned that watching the Browns. Do they still have a football team, or did they just hire a bunch of schlubs out of the stands?
This game is surreal. I was thinking that Pittsburgh was finished, and they may yet lose this game, but that was a crazy sequence of events. Weirddave must be going nuts right now.
Hey…there they are!
OK, let’s see if the Steelers can earn the win. 20-20. 4 minutes to go. This is the type of game that shows what teams are made of.
That was too close, they need to iron out these protection issues. I don’t like the play-calling at all; the line will improve, I’m not so confident about the Offensive Co-ordinator.
Any win you can walk away from is a good win…
Oh, wait. How many people actually walked away from this one? This game was a slaughter. I can’t remember such a hard-hitting game. I don’t want to say that Pittsburgh got lucky, but this game could have gone either way.
Early word is that Mendenhall has a broken shoulder and Simmons has an achilles injury and both will be out for the season.
Ouch, ugly win, painful win. But at least they didn’t let the RavBrownsens beat them.
Interesting…in the post-game interview, Ben says he went to the coach and said “Let me go no huddle and call the plays.” And suddenly our offense is back. Maybe Tomlin should have Ben call the plays all the time and have Arians only develop them in practice!
I fell asleep just before half time. Looked like we were going to lose. Wow, must have been a heck of a second half. And over time!
Sorry I missed it.
How are we going to fix the offensive line?
Just think how bad the Steelers pass protection would have been if holding penalties had been called! [The touchdown was only possible because two linemen stuck out their arms and grabbed the linebacker going between them straight for Rothlisberger; and on the FG drive, a rusher was ankle tackled from behind. Those were the two I noticed]
Running a no-huddle often has the effect. It’s more an issue of keeping the defense from substituting and keeping them from clueing pre-snap than it is play-calling; when teams go no-huddle they tend to run pretty vanilla plays, relying on the defense being out of position.
The Steelers more than any other team in the league seems to get a pass on holding. It’s remarkable how badly they manage to mangle it anyway despite that advantage.
I think that was a “win the battle, lose the war” type of game for the Steelers. Their O-line was already terrible and now they lose Simmons for the year. Their rookie sensation #2 running back is gone and their #1 has been fragile. Longer term, Mendenhall’s progress concerns me. I’m afraid he might not be pro material, wioth the fumbles and injury. Roethlisberger gets hit more than the Mets bullpen. At this rate, he can’t possibly be in any shape to guide the team through the playoffs, even if they somehow make it. Their up-and-coming right d-tackle is also out a significant amount of time. They are in a weak division, although they have the toughest schedule in the NFL based on last year’s records. Doesn’t look good. Their celebration last night after the Reed FG seemed like a “this might be the last time we celebrate anything this year” type of statement. I would have expected the players, and especially Tomlin, to be a bit more reserved considering that they were very lucky in a game that they should have dominated. Doesn’t look good.
Steeler’s will make the playoffs thanks to a weak division is something I have heard numerous times. And this is the first year I have to agree. They have no redeeming qualities, nothing that a practice can fix. Fellow Steeler fans can you help me feel better about them?
Mendenhall will be placed on IR this afternoon.
I hate to say “I told you so” but… I told you so. What the hell were you thinking, Steelers? Don’t spend a 1st-round pick on a running back when you already have one of the top 5 backs in the league.
You could have gotten 9 carries for 30 yards and a separated shoulder from any sixth-round scrub, and addressed an actual, you know, need with that pick.
