The NaNoWriMo Support Group for Novice Novel Writers with Too Much Time Thread!

lno, that’s the last place you want to have zombies. NaNoWriMo will eat holes in your brain quite nicely, without the zombies helping.

(Bit over 26k. Out of plot. Out of coffee. Problems.)

Still very interested here in seeing those passages of yours…
What?

Confession is good for the soul so here it goes…

0 word count

big fat zero!

My life has gone a bit astray this month so far and even though I can be a prolific writer when I get going and even though I function at top speed when I am waaay behind…

I’m getting that all too familiar uneasy feeling in my gut. I hope it’s around 50,000 words that need to be spit up. Word count soon.

maybe I can slack off at work some today

That may actually have been a triple entendre. I think I’m terribly impressed.

Well, I could scarcely ignore an opening like that…

I just discovered the best thing ever: word wars. You get a partner and time yourself for 10, 15 or 30 minutes. You write as much as you can as quickly as you can, bad grammar and all. When your time’s up you see who wrote the most words, and that person wins. I posted my AIM on the NaNoWriMo boards and in 2, 15 minute sessions wrote over 1000 words. They’re actually not that bad.

If anyone’s interested I’ll be at OnKeeny on AIM for at least a few more hours, so feel free to IM me if you need that extra push.

Oh, and there’s still hope for you yet smartini, but get started already! :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t believe I just wrote 300 words on zombie reactions to class struggle and worker revolution.

But hey, 300 words is 300 words…

Thanks.

I’m about 4 days behind right now, and need the kick in the ass.

Well, the Zombie Proletariat is the backbone of any post-death society, really. If the zombies start revolting …

Heh. Zombies. Revolting.

What? I thought it was funny.

HAH!
I have zero words written.
Motivation isn’t the problem, I have zero inspiration.

There’s nothing wrong with using erotic passages to boost your word count, not a single thing wrong with it at all.

lel, who has 26k words and 7 erotic passages…so far (no, you may not read them)

Erotic passages! What a great idea!!! So far, all I have is a (slight) drug overdose, visions (and hearing voices) of angels, performance art, the MC breaking into a house, and a cat-assaulting mob of teenagers. A *sex scene * would be GREAT!!!

::runs off to write some more::

Hmm, zombie sex.

All I have to say about sex scenes is this: about 1000 words a pop, quick to write, and a bit more fun to go back and read. But don’t read them now, wait until December.

Waiting for lno’s zombie sex,
lel

Oh dear. Parts don’t, well, fall off, do they?

Though I supposed you could get a nice word count describing that…

In an incredible fit of exposition, I am now up to 23,000 words! (On the other hand, I’m only on chapter 4 of 14 planned chapters  )

And geesh, folks, keep it clean. How can any smutty passage even begin to measure up to this innocent gem from my Chapter 2:

That’s a rotten way to treat your dates! Stabbing them with your keys, just because they didn’t strip fast enough?
For shame! Some of us just a bit of foreplay first, you know?

And on further thought: LITTLE Debbie.
You filthy pedophile!

Wow. I’m honestly not sure if I’m hungry or horny.

Strangely enough, I seem to get that feeling a lot.

Why must you tempt me with these nigh-irresistable straight-lines?
