The Naughtiness Justification Thread

Hopefully the dopers will be able to come up with some particularly good and silly ones. Ideally, these should all be fairly flimsy, but let’s just see how it goes. This seems like a really good thread idea to me, but the best one I can come up with this early in the morning is as follows:

It’s alright to sneak in to a movie you don’t want to see very badly. You’re not about to pay eight bucks for a ticket, and they’re going to show the movie anyway, right?

and then there’s one from a novelty MP3 I heard once:

“Steal things as often as possible. Stores factor shoplifting in to their prices, so if you don’t do it, it’s like they’re getting money for free!”

I’m going back to bed. See y’all at some decent hour.

P.S. - I am joking. Nobody get in a huff.

its alright to download music because the companies make too much money anyway and also the “stars” will still sing if you download or not so you might as well

It’s okay to wash the car in bad cheerleader drag while listening to Toni Basil’s “Mickey” at a high volume. You had Subway for lunch.

Whaaaaaat?

It’s OK to to film things in a Wal-Mart, purely on the basis that they don’t want you to. If there’s anything going on in a Wal-Mart that is so depraved that a public viewing could be bad for business, the public deserves to know. It wouldn’t really occur to me to go film the goings-on in a Wal-Mart, but the fact that they actively try to prevent this indicates that it might not be a bad idea.

It is neither wrong nor immoral to kill your educators because Gene Ray says so.

It’s OK to steal cars because if you didn’t insurance premiums would drop and the industry would collapse setting in motion world wide economic ruin and destroying life as we know it.

Since MonkeyMule’s idea has the insurance agency prospering so well, then it would be a fine idea to vandalize the car of someone you dislike intensely, because then the insurance company will have to pay out, therefore keeping the cosmos nicely balanced.

It’s OK to charge $29 to process a returned check even though it costs you less than a buck to do so, because it’s a “sin tax” and people shouldn’t write bad checks, so we’re allowed to punish them for doing so, and if we make godzillas worth of profit while we’re at it, well, where’s the harm in that? People who can’t balance their checkbooks are evil.

Its okay to cheat on your girlfriend if she isn’t putting out because its written into our genes to reproduce.

It’s ok to post that really bizarre sexual justification concept to this thread. I mean everyone knows it’s just a joke and it’s all for a laugh. And in a couple of weeks no one will remember it.

Sigh, unforunately I chickened out.

It’s OK to glare/curse/make obscene gestures at bad drivers, it’s our civic responsibility to show them the error of their ways.

It’s ok to hijack someone else’s posts with

Reasons why the SDMB is the best online community in existance
It seems to me the that the SDMB is the most friendly and interesting online community that I have yet come across. MOds effectively walk the fine line between censure of offensive and negative BS and allowing all the right to express their views. The result is a board that is well behaved and a coomunity of people that are truly supportive of one another. Not to mention the huge quantity of specialist knowledge that dopers freely share and the great wit of those who participate in MPSIMS. Anyway, I am interested in the thoughts of other dopers on what makes this place so great. Especially those who regularly participate in other forums (fora??) who can make comparisons between them and the Dope.

Its ok to copy peoples post and correct their spelling and Grammer.

It is also ok to leave the light off for the pizza delivery guy because that light bulb is wasting electricity and fossil fuels that could harm the earth.

It’s OK to heap scorn on people who feel the need to make spelling and grammar corrections to other people’s posts. It’s especially OK when half of their corrections are dubious at best.

It’s also OK to sharpen toothbrushes for shanking people who heep scorn on your Dubious corrections, because it makes the word a better place.

Because two rights makes it even more right.

existence This is the correct spelling according to the OED
double spacing after fullstop (We don’t call them periods here. That word has other meanings.) This is the accepted practice in NZ
missing comma Commas are not required for lists of two items connected by the conjunction “and”.
quantity What’s the problem?
sentence fragment This of course was a deliberate stylistic inclusion to reinforce the general rambling tone of the hijacked OP and to emphasise its triviality.

Becasue Beating a dead horse is helps it decompose faster

While existence is spelled correctly, existance is not. I corrected the word, and highlit the correction to dray attention to them

I was point out that he had not double spaced after the full stop. I may have been less then clear

And the last two where more style comments then pure grammar corrections, and as Pale Writer said, dubious at best. But nitpicking is good because point out small quasi-mistakes is a great way to win friends and influence people.

and bad coding is there just to make good coding look better
