This story bothered me from day one. My son was watching videos on YouTube about it and within a couple of hours those videos were unavailable. Now there is a second shooter. In my opinion based on watching videos footage I think there may have been even more. What’s the consensus on the Vegas shooting?
I haven’t been following the news today but I see no reason to assume a second shooter or to discount one. Most of the earlier “second shooter” claims look to have been false but that’s not to say its impossible.
Joins board to suggest conspiracy theory around mass shooting? Gee, tell me more.
There were 47 1/3 shooters.
NASA faked the moon landing just so they could distract us from a privileged white male killing a lot of people for shits and grins.
Thanks for the “new” information.
A consensus cannot be reached until the evidence at the scene is examined by qualified experts. Watching YouTube videos and jumping to conclusions is mental maturation.
Well that’s sort of true, if by “mature” you mean “senile”.
Did you mean “mental masturbation”? If so, I would agree.
Maybe the second shooter was OJ Simpson?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. The absence of proof is not proof. In other words, there is nothing at this point to suggest a “false flag” operation.
My “consensus” is that all us armchair Monday-morning quarterbacks should take a deep breath and realize that we do not have access to all the information, we are not professional investigators, and eyewitness testimony can be very misleading, as proven by multiple scientific studies.
You are welcome to any opinion you wish, but if it’s contradicted by the facts or unsupported by solid evidence it means jack.
Personally, I see no reason why the carnage couldn’t have been pulled off by one individual with the financial means to pay for what was required to make it work (guns, ammo, hotel room). I haven’t seen anything suggesting it was more than one person. If you have some actual evidence of more than one shooter please contact the FBI and Las Vegas police and give them that information, they would appreciate it.
ETA: The incident bothered me from day one, too, but apparently not for the same reason it bothered you. Me, I was upset at 58 dead people and 500+ wounded who had shown up to have a good time at a concert and found themselves under attack.
It’s absolutely ridiculous to consider that this was anything more than one lunatic with a bunch of assault rifles .
Of course the final conclusion will state this.
I’m so tired of everything having to be a conspiracy.
As someone eloquently put it in an unrelated thread, “sometimes a red door is just a red door.”
Ducking spellcheck shirt.
On the grassy knoll.
There is no evidence yet of a second shooter. What there is, is a lot of people impatient to know precisely what happened, and they want to know it yesterday. Just give the authorities a chance to investigate. I’t’s been less than two weeks!
His only other post so far suggests some sort of conspiracy too.
Related question that somebody probably already has the answer to: Why were there two windows broken? Were they both in the same suite? Did the shooter break both or did the swat team shoot one of them out? If the shooter broke both was it to get two seperate shooting positions?
A proper formal investigation hasn’t been conducted. Initial reports that get rebroadcast on the news keep having significant details changed. For instance, one major detail is the role of the security guard - did he stop the shooting or was he just the first victim?
Another detail is some report the police being present immediately, others that the shooter just killed himself long before the police had any affect on the outcome.
The core of all these conspiracy theories is simple. People see a terrible tragedy where many lives were lost, and they mentally don’t want to believe it was just one person deciding to be bad, or just a simple accident.
Examples :
JFK *couldn’t *have been shot by one lucky person with a rifle, it had to be a massive organization.
9/11 *couldn’t * have been just a few terrorists planned by a guy living in 3rd world squalor, it had to be caused by some massive conspiracy requiring thousands of people and billions of dollars.
The few hundred thousand people who worked for NASA *couldn’t * have landed on the Moon with 1960s technology, since we cannot easily do this today, they must have faked it somehow.
One guy *couldn’t * have just grabbed an assault rifle, walked into an elementary school, and mowed down a bunch of defenseless children and teachers. Since people instinctively realize that in fact that’s pretty easy to do, this conspiracy theory is that it never even happened.
Our existence *couldn’t * just be a cosmic bit of determinism, there must be some supreme being controlling it all, and we must have a purpose, it can’t just end when we die.
All the theories above are both (1) almost certainly wrong, based on the evidence. (2) more believable seeming to humans.
So people want to believe they are true and they then spread these lies like a disease to whoever will listen.
There is something odd about two things regarding the JKF assassination: Why did Oswald do it? And The Jack Ruby thing.
I am still very sure Oswald was the lone assassin.
Fair enough. Maybe the Russians or the Mob convinced Oswald to do it, and having him killed would break the chain connecting him to them. And then having Jack Ruby killed breaks that part of the chain.
Though you do have the feasibility issue that each conspirator who kills someone to cover up their involvement can also rat on you…
Waiting three years and change to have the chain broken (and having it broken by lung-cancer-associated pulmonary embolism seems to be leaving a lot to chance).
